Dunenewt
What's surprising is how we can go from having over 150 posts one day, then later in the week not even manage to get 20. Its a shame we cannot have a more consistent amount of posts, especially on a day like today where I'm stuck inside with nothing to do! Khan
Having just started a new job my posting is gonna dwindle a fair amount. More than it is usually that is.

Khan
Unfortunately, bringing the forum back to life seems to be getting harder and harder.I think that's because the life you are trying to bring back is fading into an increasingly distant memory. Dragoon Knight
Forums mature during lulls in activity. Â Those who remain part of the community keep the forum "alive" via quality posts, since quantity is no longer a viable alternative. Â Neither is it a decent judge of how "alive" a forum is during these quiet periods. Â Therefore, having one or two people posting constantly on every topic is like trying to use candles to illuminate a field at night.Just wait until the sun rises again, it'll save you a lot of work. Â By this, I mean that there will inevitably be another Dune film at some point. Â And there will be more Dune games. Â And, sadly, there will be more Dune books. Â When the activity returns, it will be naturally. Â Think of all the people who will be Googling "Dune game forum", or "Dune film forum".Patience. :)
Dunenewt
Good point Dragoon, we are one of the first results that Google provides if you search "Dune games", so when a new one game finally is announced, we are bound to get more visitors. I guess I just miss the old times when this place was so much more active. gunner154
Feyd-Rautha was your old user name, right?Complete with the picture of Feyd (the one with the purple shirt with orange hair?) from the first Dune game...
Kiyouta
Having threads like this suggests that the forum is dying. Maybe we should lock this thread so people won't be put off!
MrFlibble
Dunenewt, why is it so important to you to have lots of posts in the forum? Lots of posts does not necessarily mean an interesting discussion. I agree with what Dragoon Knight said, quality over quantity is the way to go.
Dunenewt
Because quantity leads to quality. If the forum appears dead, then we have less chance of attracting quality posters. Besides, its not like this is the only forum that does it.
MrFlibble
If someone has something to say, they will do so regardless of whether there are lots of posts or not. Loads of pointless posts, on the other hand, might generally scare potential contributors away, leading them to believe their ideas would not be appreciated in such environment.
