does this count as excercise? this morning I jumped out of bed (and fell because I may have gotten up too fast) then I took a quick shower and ran all the way for the mail box ( I only empty it once a week, no use in getting pissed of, by all the bills). Needless to say the amount of post and bills is heavy so that must count for weight lifting. Then I went online and surfed (sport?) for tickets for the hockey finals. And later we're gonna meet at my place for some sports drinking and go watch a football match.

wow am I getting sporty or what?

Whatever you do nampi, don't buy any tv junk products, oh come on!

Excercising 5 minutes a day for 5 days make you lose 50 kg? HAHA, then i would lose almost all my body weight in 25 minutes... rofl :D

I eat rather large amounts (admittedly not junk food) - yet I am skeletally thin. It's annoying - and cold.

I'm eating quite much, but still, the weight's needle won't move past 60kg...

i'll support anyone with the willpower to something about weight.

i used to get called whale at school. i've lost some weight since then.

my mum has just informed me i cant have a ball gown for my graduation unless i go down AT LEAST one clothes size by then (july).. but i HATE dieting, i thought i was alright as i am.. and it just... depressing.

so im on a forced diet weight loss type prgram now.

and i'm NOT happy about it.

Dieting is overrated. What you should do, is exercise strenuously over the time till July, and be sure to eat right! Include all food groups, and consult your doctor to what you should eat per day. You don't have to eat less food, or eliminate foods from your diet. That is just a temporary result, until you put the weight (possibly more than before) back on. Good luck!

Don't use those magic machines or potions that let you lose weight 'the easy way' with only 5 minutes a day for a week or so ;)

If you eat the right foods in the right combination you can actually speed up your metabolism and burn more calories than what you intake. Thus by eating more you can actually lose weight. But you have to know what foods do what. The only thing I remember is not to mix carbohydrate's and protein, no more steak and potato's for me :-

Actually there are a few vegetables that demand more energy to eat than what they give you. Celery is one case. So if you eat let's say three trucks of celery, you'll lose 1 pound. So it may serve as a 0 calories thing to eat for anyone that wants a snack. Like lots of other vegetables that have ridiculous amounts of calories (without 500g of sauce though...).

What you usually lose most of when going on a strict diet(eating very much less than you did before) is muscles, not fat. And when you've achieved your ideal weight and start to eat like normal again, you gain more fat leaving you with much more fat than when you started... You're only less strong.

Most people actually gains weight after using one of those miraclecures, milkshakes or strict diets.

Make that the 4 of us... I swear, if you saw me, you'd probably think I'm Raziel (from Soul Reaver 1 and 2) who just gained a little (emphasize on little) more mass.

Hmmm...must be the way we burn our food for energy...and we use it up too much... Any advise on what thin guys should eat?

to lose weight do a really demanding sprot like swimming, I lost my six-pack so I just swam 2 hours a day for thirty days, I lost like four or six pounds but I have my six-pack back 8)

Good 'ol jog/treadmill and water is the way to go.

Try the treadmill(if you have it) for about 10-20 minutes,go outside to jog to the park or store or something,then just jog around your neigborhood,get some water,and come back to your house.Do this every day and you'll lose alot of weight!

Also,I believe that I've heard somewhere that Altoids(particularly cinnamon)have alot of acid and can help burn off fat.Also chewing sugarfree gum will help as I KNOW that any kind of sugar free gum has alot of acid in it,so chew lots of those.

That's my problem, then. I consume excess melange, which... no. I do, however, eat a lot of fruit and other acidy stuff.

Eh, there have been some rather incorrect things posted here...I'd suggest not following such advice. There are a LOT of gimmicks and misconceptions about health and fitness. Sometimes people make it more complicated than it has to be and other times makers of such 'miracle products' just plain lie.

If biggest way to help you lose FAT weight (and not muscle weight) is to lift weights. (combined with a wee bit of fat-burning cardio) Its not all about your diet. Food is important but there is a tendancy to go overboard. But before I go off on a tanjent and write an encyclopedia, do you know your way around a gym, Namp? IE common exercises and common terminology like benchpress, squat, or sets, reps etc?

if you wanna lose weight then the solution is simple: stop eating

eat only the bare minimum of food that you must eat to survive. that way you are guranteed to lose weight

it don't matter what else you do to try to lose weight because the bottom line is that no matter what else you do, the main contributing factor to you not losing weight is that you eat way too much

like in that movie about cheerleaders and the funny guy came on and said something like: "hey you! your ass is way too big! stop eating! hopefully your body will eat most of your ass away on it's own!"

although this was a hilarious joke in that movie, it's true. your body will nourish itself off of your fat if you keep your food intake to a bare minimum

Yes quite true.But you can eat some junk food *once in a while* but I don't mean every other day.And you must exercise constantly,not just once a week,for 10 minutes,walking around.Don't believe in 'No pain,no gain',its a rumor or I should say,an old wives' tale.

So heres a summary :)

1.You eat to live,not live to eat ::)

2.Eat junk food maximum once every week,but not too much :)

3.Exercise an average of 90 mins each 3 times a week,but give yourself a break of about 5 minutes after every 15 minutes,or when you feel you can't take it anymore.

4.Don't go overboard with it and exercise 5 hours per day :O

5.Slowly increase the exercise time when you start to feel more fit after each exercise session

I believe fully in No Pain No Gain. Of course, it depends on what your idea of pain is. Is it fatigue? Or is it a stinging feeling? I interpret pain as feeling tired, like muscle fatigue, and when I start fatiguing I just say to myself No Pain No Gain.
