Website Styles

[Gobalopper]

I've been working on a few different styles for the website, basically different colours for all the Houses. Check out the links below to see the main page in that particular style:

Atreides

Corrino

Harkonnen

Ordos

Old FED2k Colours

Normal Colours

Take a look and let me know if you have any suggestions to improve them. Eventually you will be able to select a style and it will stick around for every page.

Could you make the Interface images again, you know, the navagation tabs? I think it looked better.

It will be a preference in your forum settings eventually on what style to use.

And it should be flexible enough to include images as well, but they won't be coming back for a bit longer.

I like Ordos and Atreides the best, then Corrino, then Hark...

cant wait till all my pages are GREEN! ;D

does that go for the message board too or just the front page?

and what abou the possiblilty of different font style for the house you choose...

hark gets something creepy, atredies and corrino get fancy types ones, ordos something sleek and snake like.... and then a regular font option too.... just an idead to go along with the House style thingy ;D

It doesn't work for the forums currently but it might.

And I probably won't change the font as it would make things a lot harder to read.

I have to concur with Gob on the fonts. While different font styles might make for nice eye candy the purpose of this site (aside from Gob showing off) is to provide information and I believe stylised fonts would inhibit that. If fonts were introduced, I would restrict them to subject headings.

Now, I don't know what anybody else thinks of this but of the items listed on the right side-bar I tend to glance at Forum Topics the most, particularly as it is the most likely to change from visit to visit. Unless anyone has a reason to object to this, I would suggest that that be moved to the top of the sidebar so people can see it the moment they access the site.

Question why you ant to change styles ? It's a general site for Dune right ? So why changing it in favor of one house ?

Well they won't be the default, just an option for those people who can't get enough green or whatever color it might be. ;)

Hmmm, why is Atreides blue and Harkonnen red and Corrino cyan? Don't you want follow the books instead of the Games?

But I like the default old style the most. It gives me a good 'wormfeeling'

corrino is hot pink, not cyan. cyan is blue, isnt it?

Im pretty sure magnenta is Red, but I don't know, I just say red, blue, green, what have you.

RGB Color is Red Green Blue, CMYK Color is Cyan(Blue), Magenta(Red), Yellow, and K which is black.

Hm, nice. I have an idea. Symbol of FED2k should be in center and on sides give four symbols of these Houses as links for the style.

I like the Atreides colors. The Harkonnen is to red and the Ordos is too green.

Apart from the ye olde colours, FED2k feels strange not being yellow :D .... not that there is anything wrong with the other colours ;D

What were the Book colours?

Atreides:Green Black

Harkonnen:Blue

they don't last. Gob, dont ban me for advertising, i'm just asking you to take a look at this site, it's a Magic:The Gathering site, and u can choose ur team there. the team stays all the time, whereas yours doesnt last, it doesnt remain in the forum and other parts.

taht magic thing was kindsa cool... so is that what your tryin gto do with the colors here Gob?

I was at this one message board where in the user profile it had what thyp of smiles you want the yellow face, a womans face, a mans face, and a robot face. all of the smile commads are the same for each style but the user gets to pick what he likes.... its kinda cool check it out here... plz dont ban me for advertising either ;D
