What's your favourite faction?

What is your favourite faction, doesn't have to be a house, in the Dune books?  Mine is House Vernius in the House Prequels.  They seem really interesting and are good guys despite the Imperial intervention.

ugh, hated House Vernius.lol THat is just me though.

I liked the Sardaukar, just interesting about their history. I also liked The Guild. I thought they were so cool and transcendant from the normal thoughts of "regular" humans. There are others but I will have to think about it.

The Bene Gesserit of the originals. And since the prequels seem to be included, they would be closely followed by the cymeks. I liked them.

I would say Bene Gesserit. They are in all of the novels and are shown more in depth than any other faction. Especially in the last two books.

I always thought the Bene Tleilax were interesting, they seemed to really grow as the series expanded.

As far as I'm concerned they're one of the few bright spots in the prequels. Something special to aspire to, oligarchic almost. I liked them, more because of who they are and what they did rather than what they are. And every time one dies, as with the BG, I get a bit upset. Lucilla, Odrade, Taraza, Mohiam, both Tamerlanes, Barbarossa, Xerces, Hecate, Ajax, each of the others before the preiquels started... I like them. I admire them.

Well, the mentats aren't a faction in that they use political power for their own ends, but they are a significant group... insofar as they count, the mentats are the most intriguing caste, perhaps because they're the most accesssible to us in the real world, and perhaps because they're also such a universally neutral group.

I've always liked the Mentats, although as Nema said, they're not a faction in the traditional sense, and the Suk School of Medicine.  I think it would have been neat to learn a bit more about the Suk doctors than we did.

I like House Harkonnen the most. they represent evil in the best way I have ever seen. 

And the sardaukars also rule. their cooperation with the harkonnens delight me. MUHAHAHA

I always liked the tleilaxu, especially in the later books, they really came in to a world of their own. Althought the bit on IX in the prequels kind of spoilt it for me.

I liked the Fremen, a justifiably proud people of survivors who gradually became shades of their former selves. Rarely have I seen such drama in a book.

The Fremen or Guild would be my choice. I wish there was a combination of the two factions.
