Get your M*****F******G Logos & Ads ***OFF*** My Screen During Shows!!!!!!!!!!!

It's been bad enough that Average Joe Dumbass has accepted continuous logo saturation on his TV screen and now that's become a seemingly permanent plague upon all of mankind. I remember a time when I could enjoy all my TV Shows and be immersed in them without ever seeing a hideously-disturbing Station logo permanently stamped over the corner of the show itself! Now it's on EVERY SHOW FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone should gather all the lawmakers who allow this perverted abuse of the honest viewer into a room and torture them terribly until they either end this crime against humanity or die; whichever comes first.

Then came the retarded "Rating System", which defiles the beginning of each and every show with OBSCENE, putrid pleasure-leeching eyesoars --- and even great art which was created long before this debauchery ever existed are likewise defiled by it!!!

Now, stations are starting to put FLASHING ADS over the shows themselves, ******WHILE****** they're playing!!!!!!! Or continuous banner-Ads across the top or bottom of the screen that take up 1/5 of the screen. Or TWO Station Logos bastardizing two corners of my screen at the same time!!!

We already are subjected to Ads for 50% of the time between the start and end of any show ---- they are called COMMERCIALS ---- you depraved corporate imbecilic gutterslugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So keep your BS in THOSE and the HELL off of my screen during shows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The time has come for honest, normal people everywhere to take a STAND against these legalized forms of visual abuse. Harrass your local Policitians and Networks today, and don't stop until they begin correcting this cesspool.

I agree. it makes me sick to see those watermarks. It's like the company is claiming the show as their own creation, rather than just something they bought rights to. And it's annoying when you tape a movie to keep, and it has the watermark, although taping stuff like that is technically illegal anyway. ;)

Another thing I hate is when they squish the credits to one side to show what's on next, or to show commercials. You can't read the credits a lot of the time when this happens, so the cast and crew are not being properly credited. Also, they often mute ending themes to have some jerkoff tell us when the news will be on. SOmetimes shows have good themes, dammit!

My how scary, I agree as well. Especially annoying on News Channels when the important thing they wish to show is permanently stamped over by the thing at the bottom.

Yeah thats one of the reasons I don't watch the news. You have your station logo, stockmarket, sports updates, news updates, time, and temp all going along with the local news. I can't figure out what the hell im supposed to be watching with all that crap.

Thank god this trend is limited in the UK.

Although it is cheap marketing for the stations, and they DO put it there to stop (or discourage) people taping movies of the telly. With their way you always know which channel you taped it from.

I just wonder when they'll start using "BlipVerts" subliminal ads over there.

Now that would be spooky

BBC. Don't you love it? Free (so long as you have a TV license), and ad-free. Of course, that doesn't include the beeb's own ads for its other programmes, but at least programmes don't get chopped up into 10 minute chunks to fit ads in.

Saying that BBC is free, although the TV licence thing, reminds me of the stupidest thing one oof my friends ever said. We'll call him stupid. My friend Leo bought a bottle of water to take into an exam, stupid heard this and was saying how foolish he was. Thia 'cussing' went on for a while until he finally said "You're so stupid, you can get it for free at home".

Yes, and we all know what lovely principle lies at the heart of all those ads, don't we? Come on, say it with me! ;)

C-A-P-I-T-A-L-I-S-M ;D

(sorry, I just couldn't resist - it's true, you know...)

I hate capitalism.

We get 4 BBCs: BBC1, 2, 3, 4. Two of them are only on sky but hey. We get pestered on terrestrial about 'go digital' 'only a huge amount of money a month'. They are on the BBC.

BBC radio also, is free, which I had neglected to mention.

"We get pestered on terrestrial about 'go digital'"

Yes, that is annoying. And the Government wants the beeb to stop broadcasting analogue by 2006!

Well, I'm glad it isn't so worse here in the Netherlands. But I'm sure it will become like this way.

Good thing we still have the public channels. They are funded by the government, and therefore they don't need so much crap.

The bad thing is that they don't broadcast all good stuff. IMO BBC is for example is better, because they also broadcast movies, and more types of series.

I agree with Edric O. It's all about the driving force of humanity: power, and power can be acquired by money...

I know, that is quite harsh. At least some channels terrestrial. but by then the price for Sky will have fallen, or at least for a sky box.

Ill probably pay for saying this.lol but nav your in idiot through and through. goodness.lol

You get these channels through a cable or satillite provider for relatively cheap. They make money by selling ads. If you dont like it then turn off your damn tv and shut the hell up. It doesnt matter how much they spam their shows, and yes it is annoying. Still though, you are watching it, and you have the right not to. that is the key. So instead of complaining like every other cheap american who doesnt know his or her rights, just turn your tv off.

Okay, and imagine if your phone line was flooded with commercials. So before you wanted to call, you had to listen to 1 minute of commercials?

Then you also don't use the phone anymore? What next then?

I agree. I am very upset that this is happening . Truly the Old Days were the Golden Days without the station logos etc.. We need to do something about it.

>:(

there is a large difference between television and the phone. There is also public broadcasting, and I agree that government and public broadcasting should stay clean of all that crap. Otherwise, you get what you ask for. If you dont like it, it isnt require for you to watch. it is "entertainment" after all, and it is not the only place to find it.
