Change in plans...

DirectX seems easy enough for me to learn it in a couple of weeks. So the game will now be in 2d DirectX (which is DirectX 7).

I can work on the storyline (not making one myself but i can give alot of creative ideas and work on most of the storyline but i need some criticism here and there)

If your map editor is just as or easier useable then the official emperor map editor then i can also custom make maps that fit in the storyline.

I can work on a strategy guide and give some comments about balance issues.

And i can host your mod but it'll probably be hosted by modding.eglador.com or the modding depot here :-

You don't have to let me in though, i can also stand in the crowd and give me opinions about the game when it's finished :O :D :)

Inoculator is working on the storyline. He might be very glad to receive ideas, though.

As for the map editor, it will be child's play. Basically, choose a texture and apply by clicking where you want it.

It would be appreciated if you made the strategy guide, Ken. Opinions/ideas on balance issues are also received with a smile.

Ofcourse you are needed, Ken. We are in great need of a map creator with some other qualities too :)

Right now, the game won't progress much. I was just finished with the old map editor when I found out, "heck, let's do it thoroughly when you're started on it, Anders", and went looking for directx tutorials on internet. However, those are very hard to find, and many of them don't explain anything after all :(

I will winish this game eventually, though! And I hope to have the new mapeditor done in a few weeks(because the old engine used a similar graphic-coordinate storing system, hence it's "just" to replace it...)

I'm having an exam in Norwegian tomorrow, so I think I'll start revising for it now as the clock is getting closer and closer to 10 pm :)

Thanks for the offer Ken :) All your help would be welcome :) I will try to send you a copy of the storyline I wrote.

And, we will be hosting our own mods. Since, I'm sure once the game has entered a beta or alpha stage God will give us webspace. So, we'll post the mods there and at Dune Editing. Since it's so easy to edit, Gob might want to make a new section there, or just put it into the "Other Games" section, but who knows.

Use GSA. If you're selling the game, you can easily pay their nominal fees.

Remember though, you need the Dune liscense to sell, and guess who has it...

That's right kids! EA!*Gulp* ;D

EA would ask hundreds of thousands for such rights. Maybe you could get them to publish it? Of course it would be better if it was just free IMO.

Cryo Still holds the info for tme Mini Series Lynch, It would be alot easier to work with them, then those greedy heartless back stabbing cold EA sons of f****** bitchs....ahem

Seriously, though, as Cyborg has asked, I'll do some icons when the game's closer to finished. I can also offer midis for music, based on the DII music.

Wow, to be truthful I didn't care about this before considering graphics make up 95% of the game for me. But after reading all the pages I'm now so tempted to play this game. :) Anyways, I'll assist in anyway I can need it be voices, beta testing, strategy guide, taking down EA representitives.. ;D

Well, the latter of those jobs is falling to me and, good ol "Blast-em-up-to-pieces-not-enough-to-bury" jane, if you get my meaning ;)

I'm glad you're interested, and as I've said a couple of times, graphic wise, it'll potentially take unit graphics beyond Emperor, and map graphics equal or better then Dune2k. We will be incorporating cliffs, 2d but it adds a nice affect.

And I'm sure you could help us with the strategy guide :)
