i still have 3ds max, that might make it alot easier to texture them. should i texture the .max file, or the image file?

You can do whatever suits you best, Frodo, though a .max file is preferred.

Do you know how to texture single polygons or polygon groups(like texture only the front part of a gun e.t.c)? If not, I'll show you.

Anders, perhaps you could email me the current version of the tile engine.

I will do that right away. I am finished with the "smoothing" feature of tiles now. The tile texturing system support infinite numbers of terrain. I have to create a texturepack creator.

Features like cliffs and such will also be added soon.

I am sure Inoculator will take your suggestions into consideration.

The names are very interesting as they are "new" :)

If there will be airpower or not, depends in Inoculator. Then engine should support it perfectly(when it's completed ;D).

I was worried the engine wouldn't, but if it can, here are my ideas:

-Imperial Bomber - ornithopter similar in appearance and affect to the original Atreides Ornithopters from Dune2k.

-Imperial Assault Thopter - ornithopter with a smaller chassis compared to the Imperial Bomber, armed with a pair of heavy machine guns.

And Nema, is there any chance you could sticky this thread?

Ok, a several updates:

-some stuff will be presented to Gob in a week or so to help convince him that webspace for us would be a good idea.

-the tile engine is almost done, although new tiles will need to be designed.

-a couple building models will be available soon.

-those air units listed above, will be included in the game.

We are still in the development of a mapeditor.

However, the mapeditor's basic features should be just around the corner.

A program for making texturepacks is finished tomorrow, but it will take a few more days to implement items like cliffs and maybe dynamic tiles if that's necessary. But dynamic tiles are something I do not plan on creating as it might be too much work yielding too little results.

Yes, it is still in the way, way, way alpha stage. If you like, we could consider you for the map design team, since it is probably the first job we'll need done by someone else. I would be hopeless at that :P

I am now more or less done with the program to add texturepacks(rock, spice e.t.c). Only one bug I know of, but it has happened only once during a test in earlier stages, and I'm unable to make it happen again. The engine support unlimited terraintypes already ;D

I'll just have to make some tiles.

I've made some tile we maybe could use for sand.

Spice, however, is under development.

Boy it's hard to create cool, or even ok, tile textures :P

I haven't got much time to send you files, Inoculator, because I don't want to send you not yet tested programs.

Now, however, I will just see if I can fix some spice and then send you something.
