Yes.

WHen I got the virus, it disabled my antivirus so I didn't get the name of it. I then had to deal with it without knowing anything.

I made a file with a few easy steps on how to manually remove the virus.

So it's just the one virus then? I've been getting mail in my bulk e-mail folder about some love/friendship screensaver. It's usually just the same old crap with the virus in it. Good for the trash can. ;)

Create an adressbook entry called: 00000, and no email adress. When a virus has infected you, and wants to spread itself to you adressbookpeople, most mail servers (e.g. outlook, hotmail) will give an error (because the virus included an adress without an emailadress) and the virus has stopped at your place (Though it infects you)

No it can only be text, text cant hurt your computer, maybe you but not your computer ;D.

You have to open a attachment IN the e-mail in order to get it, thats why I only open ones from trusted people and check for viruses in it.

There are viruses out there that can activate upon opening the e-mail. I don't have any information on them but they are out there, but very rare.

there were(don't know if it still is) a problem with microsoft outlook: It previews the mails when you highlight them, running the content(if it's a picture or other in-mail graphic).
