Dunenewt Posted October 23, 2002 Posted October 23, 2002 This may sound tacky but which is better?Say you were a newbie which would you look for in a person if you wanted advice?
Acriku Posted October 23, 2002 Posted October 23, 2002 Member number. They show experience or lack thereof, most of the time. Post number could just mean you post a lot of crap.
Anathema Posted October 23, 2002 Posted October 23, 2002 Anybody noticed Devastator_Mech is in the top 10 posters, yet has been around only a short while?[sucking up]Or ask the landsraad guys. They're wise and such.[/sucking up]
IxianMace Posted October 23, 2002 Posted October 23, 2002 The reason Devastator_Mech is in the top ten posters is because he completely overrun the Emperor Strategy section with his SPAM and useless and misleading advice. He seemed to think he knew everything about the game, while everyone else was a n00b, and that we should all listen to him, when in fact his posts were very laughable, even exasperating in their nonsense. As a result, I hardly post in Emperor Strategy any more. At least not as much as I used to, since I can always expect Devastator_Mech to reply immediately with some more rubbish, just so that he's the last person to post in every single thread in Emperor Strategy. :O :( >:( >:(
Gobalopper Posted October 23, 2002 Posted October 23, 2002 Devastator_Mech is banned thats why you don't see him. ;)
Gobalopper Posted October 23, 2002 Posted October 23, 2002 Well considering he kept trying to make new accounts even after I told him to stop probably won't be posting for a while. :)
ethan Posted October 23, 2002 Posted October 23, 2002 well, i hope I dont post a lot of crap since i have high posts and my member # isnt to low either, 1581...
Timenn Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 A good rank (Landsraad, Staff, Admin) will provide info... :)
Dunenewt Posted October 24, 2002 Author Posted October 24, 2002 well, i hope I dont post a lot of crap since i have high posts and my member # isnt to low either, 1581...Mines really low then...Well how about this:Posts divided by member number with the higher result the better
Dunenewt Posted October 24, 2002 Author Posted October 24, 2002 Take mine for example:609 divided by 448equals 1.359375or Gobs4200 divided by 1equals 4200
Nyarlathotep Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 I always look what someone posts. If he's nice, doesn't post any crap, doesn't flame, etc, etc, I'd ask that person. I couldn't care less for number count.
Frodo Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 mine would be 0.81367521367521367521367521367521 :(
Desert_Eagle25 Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 Definitly the member number...post count is just a meter for how much spam you post. ;D
babyface Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 None of the two.Take Nav's account, rather long here, lots of post, but all his answers are cr@p ;)I would just look at the posts and the answers and then make my own conclusions..
Ghosty_Square Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 Yep, better to find out yourself if that person is worthy asking.
Gunseng_Harkonnen Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 Member number is better, thought its funny looking how much post you have (funny but not important). Some people can thing that they must post and post to have better score...and they post all the time...what is not very nrccesary (not mention newbies want have higher post count and can feel strange when they talk with somebody with 2000 posts)
ken124578 Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 Well considering he kept trying to make new accounts even after I told him to stop probably won't be posting for a while. :)Hmmm... i always new he was an pain in the eye ::) Anyway, i would not look on the member numbers, nor on the post count, i would look on his reputation, kind of posts etc.
Dunenewt Posted October 25, 2002 Author Posted October 25, 2002 That would take a long time......when i was new (a year ago) a looked at the names to tell me what kind of people they were

Dunenewt Posted October 25, 2002 Author Posted October 25, 2002 I really don't get how people get so many posts apart from spamming
