Emperor Harkonnen
Which one of the Dune books you have read was the most uninteresting and boring?? To me it was Dune Messiah
AlteaDeo
compared to the father's book, Brian one's where less interesting... Still, I can't say I really find one of them all boring....
Anathema
I still have to read House Harkonnen and House Corrino, but sofar God Emperor of Dune is the least (still good anyway). My list:Dune (original)Dune messiahChapterhouseHouse AtreidesHeretics of DuneGod Emperor of Dune
Emperor Harkonnen
I did acctually not think that Messiah was very fun to read, cos the I read it in english and it was so hard. But I wounder if I will like the one I am reading now the most, Children of DUne. I liked the stuff when the tigers killed those little children. Sweeet ;D
Vanguard3000
I liked the stuff when the tigers killed those little children. Sweeet ;DErr...Anyway, if I had to choose from the six best books I've read, I would say Chapterhouse was my least favourite. Although I wouldn't call it boring per se.[edit] Fixed a problem with the quote.
Usul
I think that COD was the most boring (I've not read chapter house or any of the prequels though). It was ok but the others were much better (IMHO).
Acriku
So far I would say CoD, because I can never get back into it after a day of reading, like it's a chore to read.
sniper8080
I'd have to say CoD is my least favorite although it was still very good. Dune Messiah was close behind it thought. Although I'm not saying their not good books. I have read all of them, encluding the three preludes (and the "Hunting Harkonnens" short storie "handout") and all of them are great books and amazingly well writen. ordos45
I thought God Emperor of Dune was the most boring. I fell asleep reading through all of Leto II's philosophy, but I eventually finished it. I've been meaning to reread it, its the only Dune book I haven't read more than twice.
sniper8080
True enought, but it had a bit more action and movement to the whole book than CoD in my opinion.
Timenn
I thought God Emperor was boring. Until I encountered ChapterHouse. The whole Duniverse was demolished. And it wasn't even a real story too
Anathema
I forgot CoD in my list. Here is my edited list.Dune (original)Dune messiahHouse AtreidesChildren of DuneHeretics of DuneChapterhouseGod Emperor of DuneThey are all worth reading, IMO. GhostHunter
Anything with Leto in it was so boring. No real plot just a bunch of guys wimpering word games at each other. And he could see everything, so we have a Gaint worm-like creature that has the power of Mis Cleo greaaaat. Only thing I liked about any book with leto in it was when he died and when the chapters were about Duncan. Until next post, Vilgent. Vanguard3000
I agree with Alexander Ordos. I think GEoD is my third favourite, under Dune and Dune Messiah. I loved the speculation it incited in me. Also, I appreciated the tragedy of the Museum Fremen.[edit] Typos.
DukeLeto
Ugh, I barely survived Messiah.
exatreide
same here.GEOD was the best.leto is so cool....
Lord J
I couldn't agree more, I love the books, the story, but GEOD was sooooo slow. You're like, "Well, kill him already!!"I think it was written more for Frank than for the readers. Of course, it would do me well to go through the series again...Maybe after my next few Dean Koontz books, or if I'm foolish enough to tackle War and Peace or the Iliad. nampigai
for me House Corrino was the most dissapointing book, it seemed as if they rushed through it all to get finished within a certain amount of pages.
Timenn
I got the idea with that with Chapterhouse Dune. It's only: 'Hmmm they are dangerous, we should attack' and they attack
The_Sadukar
i think that the original dune book is the most boring (just kidding) no i think that COD is teh most boring
Tyekanik
GEoD was the most 'boring' but I enjoyed it anyway.I do not include Brian's books with the original six because I find them so distasteful and shallow. The indiscrepancies and blatant contradictions begin to wear thin. I possible everyone should read the Dune Encyclopedia, it is quite good. Unfortunately I will admit that I will continue to read the Brian books as they are DUNE.
Caid Ivik
Worst was Dune Messiah. Children were worse too, God Emperor was like a yell from darkness. At least second half was very good. Heretics weren't as GE. I still have to read Chapterhouse and prequels.
Timenn
Well, prepare yourself for Chapterhouse then...But then the prequeals, and your back in Dune :)
Anathema
Btw, is it true that BH is going to write a sequel to Chapterhouse?
