I think that it sounds like Vikingmetal. I agree about many of the songs not so good, but many in Jaktens tid and Midnattens Widunder are also bad I think. only a few I find true folk music, if you can call it that. most are just screaming like any blackmetal band. As example in the song "Jaktens Tid".Well yeah, Grottans Barn is a good song. But the new singer, Wilska, tries too much, he isn't a troll lol. Even Katla didn't sing like that...
