Just remember to keep track of them then...

"Not much to report at the moment, situation seems to be steady." J'invy says, "However, we have recieved one small piece of infomation regarding a possible target..."

"There isn't a problem, is there?" Dust Scout asks, "We should be more than capable of taking any important thread in Fanfiction."

"That's just the problem..." J'invy says, "The thread isn't in Fanfiction, it's in PRP."

"Politics, Religion and Philosophy." Lillian breathes, "Are you sure we're ready?"

"I believe we are logically capable of winning an assault on this thread." J'invy says, avoiding the question somewhat. "The thread is called 'The Occult,' and is supposed to be one of the greatest sources of the supernatural outside of Fanfiction."

"An excellent reason to go after it." Dust Scout grins, waving a hand over his digital map, causing it to flow over the mountains of Fanfiction, moving far South to show the wasteland of PRP.

"It will be far away from our other threads though." Lillian points out, "And unreachable by 'The List.'"

"True." Dust Scout frowns. "'The List' is the basis of our power here in Fanfiction. Would being unable to use it in PRP limit us?"

"Not as long as we remember the lessons we learned before aquiring 'The List'" Darius says steadily, "Not if we don't grow complacent."

"The skirmishes near the borders might cause some trouble but I doubt it is anything we need get involved in." J'invy says, "Shall I give the orders?"

"No, wait a little while." Dust Scout orders, "We'll move on the thread soon enough, for now, send a small scouting party ahead to make sure everyone knows we have interests there." He pauses, considering his orders. "A small, powerful scouting party." He ammends.

"Have we heard back from Warlord Sard?"

"Yessir, he is on his way as we speak."

"Alone?"

"Yessir, shall we send some troops to meet him?"

"Hmmmm, I don't see why not.  How long do you estimate he will be here?"

"Not too long sir, I shall infrom the chefs to start cooking."

"Excellent.  Have them make me a sandwich as well."

"What would you like sir?"

"Hmmmm, coronation chicken."

"Yessir."

EWS walked through the door to his left into the gaming room.  It contained a Pool Table, some consoles and some arcade games.  He pushed the lever on the pool table and the balls dropped.  Racking them up, he played a few games on his own.

His home was modest, it was a fitting place for him as he wasn't ever planning on being a great ruler.  A good ally he would be though, hospitality was his forte and a friend he was as well.

EWS was single, he thought that this was a rarity for a warlord, but he didn't really know as he very rarely ventured out of Gaming.  However, he hoped that would all change as Sir Sard was arriving, and he was going to discuss a trip North.  Maybe a strong alliance would come, but first he needed to gather some more together.

"We are ready to march on PRP?" Dust Scout asked.

"We will never be ready to march on PRP." Lillian sighed, "But we're as close as we're likely to get."

"Good. I'm leaving you three in charge for the moment." Dust Scout announced, to the slight surprise of his advisors. "I'm going with the army, for a while at least. We have an... appointment, in the Gaming Board."

"Very well." Lillian said flatly. She did not approve of this plan. "The scouting party has reached The Occult without much trouble, they are stationed outside the gates. Reports indicate that they are not being recieved favourably. The Guardsmen have barricaded themselves inside."

"As expected." J'invy added, "We are foreign to them after all."

"That's quite an army you've mustered." Lillian muttered, peering down through a protal-window to the thronged streets below.

"An army I will be quick to put to use." Dust Scout grins, heading for the door.

"Dust Scout has arrived sir."

"Excellent, let them in.  Show him to the quarters and send his men to our guest houses.  I am sure that we have enough to accomodate them.  Ask him to take his time and then signal when he is ready to meet.  He is our guest and we shall treat him with respect.  This could be a big thing for us."

"Yessir."

"Oh and another thing, assign him a serveant or two and make sure he gets the fruit we left him.  Tell him when dinner is and give him a menu to order.  Get him some of our best wine as well."

"Yessir."

"Another thing.  Any news on Sard?"

"No sir, but I expect him to be here soon."

"What about Dragoon Knight?"

"No sir."

"Right, we may have to go on without him."

"Yessir, intelligence does say he is out in the field fighting."

"Right.  Ok, hop to it."

Outside

"OPEN THE GATES"

The gates opened and the army came in.  THe lone figure stood infront of what must have only been Dust Scout.

"Follow me to your quarters, and my men shall show your army to theirs.  Thank you for coming your lordship."

Dust Scout looked around his suite of rooms. They were certainly well-furnished. Luxurious. The first thing he did was check the food for poison. And then the wine. He didn't really expect there to be any; but better safe than sorry. The wine was actually quite good.

The next thing he did was examine the rooms for traps. He didn't expect any of them to be in evidence either, and wasn't that good at spotting them anyway.

Finding nothing, Dust Scout proceeded to the window. Peering down, he could see the bulk of his army bedding down in some place or other. Looking further, over the walls of the city-thread, he scanned the horizon of Gaming.

"This land could do with a bit of new blood..." He hissed to himself, picking out several targets. Turning around abruptly, he made his way over to the desk, and scribbled out a note. Then, he silently made his way over to the door.

The three servents assigned to him had all been told to wait outside while he made his examination of the room. Dust Scout was somewhat impressed, and surprised, that none of them seemed to have been listening at the door. He pointed to the woman who had served the wine.

"You, take this note to EWS, if you were be so kind." Handing her the note, Dust Scout turned to the other two, both of them young men. Dustie paused.

"...EWS is up to something with you two, isn't he?" He asked eventually. One of them grins. So does Dust Scout. "Alright, come in..."

"Sire"

"Yes Grenadine?"

"His lordship Dust Scout has sent you this message."

EWS read it.  He nodded and on the back wrote a return message.

Message to Dust Scout;

As long as I never hear about what you are going to do.

"Give this back to him and send word to the guards to open the gates when his men wish to leave."

"Yessir, and another thing sir.  He said that you were up to something with us servents."

"Oh dear lord no, I was just wondering if he was taken by any of you.  Seems not, maybe a young boy will suffice."

"Shall I send for..."

"No, of course not.  You remain his servents and do what he wills.  However, any thing that you may find strange, come to me first and I shall approve it.  Only you, Luc and Edward may enter his chambers, no others without my permission."

"And his own men?"

"They may come and go as he please.  Dinner is nearly ready, for his men at least, make sure that they are shown to the mess."

"Yessir."

EWS wondered at why Dust Scout was being so weary, he didn't have any hidden meaning.  He was just trying to be a good host, and he hoped that Dust Scout might have had some nice looking cousins (or sisters) that he could court.  He would bring that up at the banquet.

As the tusnami strikes ~+Anathema+~'s forces guarding the bridge, chaos erupted. The wave drowned half of their troops, and the ones surviving were busy panicing and is trying to get back to their positions of the scattered formation. The troops of Hells Armada took the chance to storm into their ranks to slaughter them. Only a handful of the enemy escaped by the time the battle ended.

"Let them go, we have no need to kill every single one of them! Get into formation and count for losses!" order warmaster Vin as he lights 2 flares, a blue and red one.

=Path cleared=

=Hostiles in area, beware=

Back at the city of "New election poll", the people had opened the gates immediately at the sight of the intruders. Even the population of the city are simple-minded and dislike forgien warlords, they know better then to stand against them in such situations.

Akira had decided to position his troops under the walls of the city, rather than unmounting them and rely on the broken walls and gates which is the result of ~+Anathema+~'s previous attack on the thread. After inspecting his men, Akira entered the city's radio station to give an announcement to the population.

"People of New Election Poll, I'm D.S. Akira of the Hells Armada. I know that you all don't welcome me and my men, for we bring you war and misery. But we have no choice, as ~+Anathema+~'s evil forces had attacked Fan Fiction like they had attacked you. We have to take action. Now, I wish that the rements of emprworm army, EdricO army, the partizans, and the citizens of this city, to each send their representive to the radio station now."

The representatives soon arrived.

"Take a look at this." said Akira as he hands to each of them a document.

"Independence!?" exclaimed the representatives in unison.

"Yes. See the Khan's seal at the bottom, he had written it himself. He would liberate you from ~+Anathema+~, provided that you would support us in PRP. You might look on the details as stated in the treaty."

The representatives looked at each other, then in turns signed the treaty.

"Very well, now please get your men to the walls. The enemy would come in any minute."

New unit: NEP militas

They come from the men of "New Election Poll", and the rements of both emprworm and EdricO's army after their fall in the battle of "Religion". These men are of equal ability as PRP Guardsmen, but have a few limitaions:

1)May only be used in PRP.

2)May only be used for defence.

3)They can only be recruited when "New election poll" is under attack.

4)They will only be under my command during the defence of "New Election Poll".

=Gaming/PRP borders=

The Khan's forces had set up camp in the ruins of the guard post of PRP, which they had just attacked. They had also captured a few PRP guardsmen, and they were bring forth to the Khan.

"Are you ~+Anathema+~'s men?" asked the Khan.

"Yeeee...yes! Please don't kill me!" begged the captives.

"I won't kill you. In fact, I would give you all horses and supplies. I need you all to bring a message to you leaders."

=The message=

Your emperor had already been killed in his foolish raids to Fan Faction! Surrender, or you will follow his footsteps!

Khan ExSPlug of Hells Armada

-----------------------

After the captives had left, an messenger arrived from Fan Fiction.

"Khan, these are from the other warlords."

"Very well. I will reply to them now. Take a rest."

Message to EWS:

[hide]I am afraid I may not attend the meeting in time, as the conquest against ~+Anathema+~ won't end so soon. I may sent my representative, or shall we set the date to a later time?

Khan ExSPlug of Hells Armada[/hide]

Message to Dust Scout:

[hide]I wish the matter be postponed after the conquest against ~+Anathema+~, and I wish to meet you in person to discuss on this. My men had informed me of seeing your scouts in the presence of PRP. I have no intrest of their reasons in PRP, but I wish to sign a non-agression pact with you.

EWS was reviewing the message that both ExSPlug and Dragoon Knight had sent.  He was quite annoyed at Dragoon's decline, and he understood Plug's reason.  Next to him, as always, was his aide.

"Tell ExSPlug that another time would be fine.  I wish to discuss it with him in person."

"And Dragoon?"

"Tell him that what ever reason he has not to come is his own and that we do not wish him any harm.  However, tell him that we will be sending him a transcript of the meeting."

"Yessir."

Message to ExSPLUG

[hide] We shall meet at another time to suit you, incidentally I am currently hosting a banquet of Dust Scout and Sir Sard of Endless Days.  Would you like a transcript of the meeting I will be happy to oblige.  Further, if you or any of your troops need a rest or some holiday time then Far Cry's forests and beaches will always be welcome to you.  I hope to meet with you soon and I wish you luck in your quest.[/hide]

"Sir Sard is late." The servent announced, being very careful to keep her expression completely neutral. "He will be joining us shortly, but the banquet will be delayed. EWS hopes that this will cause no inconveniance."

"No, no, not at all." Dust Scout smiled evilly, "Assure my host that I am more than happy with his hospitality." He glanced quickly behind him, making sure to keep the woman's view of the room obstructed with the door. "Now if you'll excuse me..." The door slammed shut. With great force of will, the woman did not look through the keyhole.

Message to Dragoon Knight:

Two groups of my forces are currently marching on two threads in Gaming that have taken my interest. I plan to establish territory here that might prove beneficial to share. Of course you'd have to help me take and garrison them. My targets are Age of Wonders (2) and Neverwinter Nights. See you there.

DS.

The twin armies marched across the lands of Gaming. The Sharders led the way, the Highlanders marching close behind. Above them, the Sentinals circled ominously.

The order was given, the columns parted. Their targets clear, the armies of Dust Scout marched onwards...

Back in Fanfiction, Lillian and J'invy were scheming.

"He has clearly indicated that he wishes to take threads of this type. The only reason he has not yet done so is because this particular one is not in 'The List.'" Lillian said impatiently.

"All the more reason to leave it alone." J'invy sighed. "We can't afford to splash out right now, not with the bulk of our forces spread out like this."

"We can." Darius interrupted. "We can and we shall, the power that the thread will bring should be great indeed. It will be a nice surprise...

The attacking forces held thier ground against the set in foe.  Anathema's forces moved in and out, and both armies suffered.

"General!" shouts one aid to Andrews, "Must must think about retreat!"

The former president simply raised his eyebrow and pointed at the incredible force pouring over the hillside behind him.

  The aid stuttered, "Re-Reinforcements?"

Sabotours ran into the most closely packed groups of enemy fighters and exploded, then the Heroes, followed by a stream of Orcs and Highlanders stormed onto the smoking plain.

"Final charge!" shouted a sargeant, "We take this territory today!"

A few hours later Andrews sends a commlink to Lord J: "The battle is over.  We have liberated FED2K Trek in the name of Kanly."

"Finally," says Lord J, curling his long black hair on his fingers, "Finally we show the abilities of our armies.  When will our forces be ready for another attack?"

"Anoth--!  Ehh..." Andrews holds his tongue in the nick of time, and gives thought to an acceptable reply, "I would rate us at another 5 posts until we could carry a successful attack against any other factions, but I'll bring it down to 3 posts, starting now."

"That is most unfortunate.  However, I am confident in your abilities, Jack, you havn't let me down yet."

  "Aye sir."

A few hours later, Lord J makes a televised announcement to all FanFiction kingdoms.

"I, Lord Johnsonius of Kanly, Defender of FanFiction, declare victory in our war against the invader Anathema.  His move into our territory has lost him countless troops and time.

"Now I must turn my eyes to the new invaders.  Victory has come at a price in my last campaign, and yet I would pay that price a thousand times over to see our realm united against foreigners.

"FanFiction will win this War of the Boards, even if I alone must see it done."

Secret Message to Sir Sard:

"New invaders," mused Ordos45," I take it he means us?"

Bea nodded," Most likely."

"I was hoping he'd just let us have our one thread in fanfiction and leave us be, since only the thread unit is reinforcing them."

"As do I still hope m'lord."

Sard was looking at the remnants of the poor servant in front of him, there wasn't much left, a torso and some bones, and something that could have been a head. He didn't remember how or when he'd killed the servant. The last thing he remembered was rushing out of the banquet hall, and then the rage over came him, he couldn't resist the berserkergang. He didn't know for how long he had been raging, but he remembered something about an alliance proposal. He rushed back to his chambers, took his knife and grabbed the table, and quickly scribbled some runes into its surface.

Message to EWS:

[hide]I accept your alliance, but I really must be going, sorry about the banquet, oh and by the way, I saw on of your servants running away...[/hide]

"Reports indicate that two backup forces from Dragoon Knight are preparing to meet us at the threads in question." One of the Highlanders reported to the General.

(OOC: Right, I forgot about them last post until right after I posted.)

"My leige, I suggest we start looking to uncolonized threads before we move against an established power," says Andrews, fresh back from FED2K Trek, "More forces will help us in an initial attack, instead of pouring reinforcements into the same base."

"I agree," says Lord J, "Do you have any specific threads in mind?"

"Scouts are being sent now.  By our next post, we should be ready to make a move."

  "Understood.  Carry on."

Secret Message to FanFiction Warlords:

To Lord J:

I have the ability to reach several Fanfiction threads immediately through 'The List' at the moment. Not all of them belong to me, but they are the ones I plan to take. Any others are free game as far as I'm concerned.

DS.

Location: Neverwinter Nights.

The city stood strong, powerful. Seemingly impregnable. The strange thing about Neverwinter Nights was that it should in truth only have been a tiny village, a dot on the maps. As matters stood however, the village had a direct connection to lands outside of Fed2k, where Neverwinter Nights ruled supreme. The city was vast, and contained within it everything that the games stood for.

"It's quite a bastion, isn't it?" On of the Highlanders muttered to another. He recieved an odd look in return.

"Bastion?" His neighbour asked incredulously. The first Highlander sighed and turned back to the city on the hill. This would be a very tough battle.

"Tell me of the defences." The General muttered from the side of his mouth, chewing on a shard of something.

<Defences of city: Neverwinter Nights + Evaluative response: Considerable> The Sentinal communicated, hovering above the General, its metallic tentacles swaying gently. The General waited, no further reply was forthcoming.

"Well, what could you sense?!" He asked frustatedly. Dealing with the litteral machines was wearing his patience thin.

<Primary defences of city: Neverwinter N->

"Yes, yes, I know that bit, just get on with it!" The General waved a gauntleted fist hurriedly. This caused him to tilt slightly off balance, and he flapped quickly in order to right himself. The machine paused.

<You don't need to be so rude> It said reproachfully. <The city has archers + Mostly Arcane archers, with several wizards and sorcerers supporting them + There were even a few druids as well, and a shaper or two + Maybe a paladin + Several different species, at least three dragons + Inside walls many fighters and barbarians, half-orcs->

"Dragons?" The General gaped, his eyes widening. "Three? What species?"

The Sentinal waited, making its feelings at being interrupted felt. <One gold, one copper, one silver> It communicated grudgingly.

"Blast!" The General growled, flapping his wings to stay aloft. "Likelihood of Sentinals being able to defeat dragons?"

<Probability points to one dragon deleted before all Sentinals are destroyed> The Sentinal said without emotion. The General said a word, which the Sentinal filed away for future reference.

There was a pause, in which only the sound of the rain hitting the Sentinal's metallic body could be heard.

"Even in this weather?" The General asked eventually.

<Rain slows dragons, not Sentinals> The Sentinal answered. <Chances of Sentinals deleting one dragon of three in sunny conditions: Minimal> The General repeated the word. The Sentinal calculated the value of pi to three thousand figures.

"Inon is camped nearby. He will reinforce us..." The General pondered, "But it is up to us to make the first move. Very well, time to take a risk."

<Risk inadvisable> The Sentinal communicated in the closest it could get to urgency.

"We will attack." The General decided. "And if Inon doesn't reinforce us, we die with honour!"

'Dust Scout would murder me if he heard that...' The General thought to himself, as the Sentinal swirled away.

The first to attack were the sentinals. Swooping forward from the skies, faster and more dextrous than most dragons, they tore at the walls. The dragons could wait, the sharders and Highlanders had to be let in.

The General Dust Imp hung back, waiting. He wanted to be in command for as long as possible. If he could, he wanted to avoid entering the Dust Plane completely, he needed to command his troops. His heart sank as he saw the first majestic shape rise from the walls, taking to the skies in a shimmering gold display as the scales reflected the sunlight, now just showing through as the rain began to dry up. Then the second, a slightly different colour, rose into the sky, followed by a far paler one, the silver.

"What the-" The General gasped, as another two shapes lifted off from the walls; one a brilliant green, the other blood red.

"Five?!" The General gaped. "Five dragons?" Then the words of the Sentinal came back to him. Shapers! They were shapers taking the form of dragons! The General moaned. Five dragons...

Leaving the hole they had torn in the wall, all of the sentinals rose back into the air, their sensors waving. They did not split up, but immediately converged on the green dragon. Or at least, they would have done. With a beat of her powerful wings, the shaper soared ahead and away, leaving the Sentinals far behind.

Undaunted, the machines gave chase. They tore after the dragon, travelling far faster than any human could stand as she ducked and weaved in the sky.

The Sentinals were not blind to their surroundings however, and when the red dragoon swooped in with a blast of flame, the sentinals swiftly split in two around the fire, coming together again afterwards, just as the copper dragon slipped in.

Its jaws came down hard on one of the Sentinals, tearing it away and mashing it badly. But the tentacles were long, and powerful. They swept around even as the Sentinal's circuitry was chewed apart, gashing the dragon's face through it's thick hide, and finally tearing an eye.

With a roar of agony, the dragon attempted to spit the mangled machine back out, as it would a fleshy enemy. But the wires and shrapnel of the metallic body were driven deep into the tissue of the mouth, and the dragon found itself unable to get rid of this painful, tearing thing. Recognising an oppertunity for what it was, the other sentinals immediately turned around and converged on the copper dragon, slashing it apart. The dragon began to spiral, despite the best efforts of the silver and green dragons to rid it of the Sentinals. Just before it impacted with the walls of the city, the Sentinals flew free, leaving their mangled comrade in the jaws of the dragon.

"One down. Five to go..." The General said with a sigh. The red dragon was circling overhead, teasing the Highlanders with small bouts of flame. Looking to the left, the Dust Imp could see the Dragoon forces mobilising. Ordering the Sharders to join the fray, the General prayed they were not too late.

"This isn't right!" Someone shouted, "Where are the Gamers? Where are the Gaming armies?!"

"This place has a link to the outside!" The General shouted back, though he didn't know who to. "If there are any Gamers left in there they're food for the dragons!"

Location: Age of Wonders (2).

Gazing up at the tall, ivory spire that was the wizard's tower of this thread, the Dust Imp General had to admit, he was intimidated.

Reports of the troops didn't help either. According to the Sentinals there were cannons, ballistae, airships... and that was forgetting the numerous living troops, of which there were many.

Still, he thought, it could be worse. If the wizard's tower was occupied, that would be much much worse.

Glancing over, the General saw the army sent by Dragoon Knight, ready to move. He took a deep breath.

"Atta-" He began to call, but was cut off as a burst of colour erupted from the city walls. "What the-?"

"Everyone under cover!" Someone shouted, as the missiles began to fall.

Red fire bolts blasted down, black death bolts hammered the ground, killing anything that recieved a direct hit, yellow holy magic blasted away the courage of the troops, while blue magic bolts damaged everything around them.

"This is going to be harder than I thought..." The General sighed to himself, as the gates of the city opened, and the Gamers poured out.

Location: Dungeon Siege RPG.

All was quiet. The snow fell calmly, serenely.

"Feckin' snow." One of the guards growled. "Can't see a fing. What if one o' them things is right in front o' me an' I don' know it?"

"Then you're dead mate." His companion said cheerfully. There was no response. "Hey, hey, you there?"

...

Just before he could cry out, a shard of ice slipped quietly through the man's jaw from below, burying itself in his brain. The Sharders, exemplary units in snowy conditions, were moving in.

Quietly, the Sentinals slipped in overhead, sesing the heat of the guards in the cold of the snow, and picking them off one by one. It was only a matter of time before the alarm was raised, but it was time that could be used well.
