Our Own WOL?

Well Olaf allowed custom games because originally we thought QM didn't work but if it does its easy to switch that off again. But I don't think the QM matcher is very good right now so it might be best to stay with custom until we can get that changed.

btw, anyone in the Netherlands have a copy of Emperor they can lend to Olaf for a few weeks?

It's not possible for three Ladders is it? One for the QMs, DMs, and BCs.

I don't think it would be fair to group all the DMs with ppl that are only playing QM sets.

It's a shame WW turned off the Clan Manager cause thats all the DM games are really... I liked the QM since it would pick a random map and it was on set sets.

Me and Zamb didn't have a problem getting matched up. We were in a room and said he lets go to QM and we matched up in less than 2 seconds I fell out my chair cause I didn't think it would still work. ;D

If RA2 clan manager is still working why can't we get Emp turned back on? ???

I was able to create a clan through the RA2 clan manager hoping it would show up beside my name on Emp since your WOL names can be used on other WOL games. Didn't work... but if I ever buy RA2 I have a clan ;D

Good news and bad news.

Djcid and me were on wol, we agree to practice some qm, using the qm match up option, we go there at the same time, to my sourprise I got matched up with 2 guys 3 times, I mean with one guy 2 times and one time with other, I was like, wow, there is people now playing it again, great, that's the good news.

Bad news is that both of them ducked me 3 times, lol, finally I got matched up with djcid and we could play good games.

Well, nothing is perfect ....

well it still aint working for me.

Oh and that 127.0.0.1 games2.westwood.com it aint in my host file. I had to take the Read Only off so that i could modify it, now the line is there imma give it another try as soon as i get chance.

Oh and something else. Do i understand correctly that if 1 player has the program open and the other doesnt, the game will be recorded and sent to ladder?

If so then, maybe i dont want to play atm but the other player i playin agaisnt has the proxy open, so basically it got recorded even when i didnt want to play a ladder game.

Wich brings me to my other question, lets say im playing on ladder using Harkdawg nick, now i log Hark off and come back to play some nice non ladder games with other nick, but since maybe my opponent has a proxy running and my other nick gets sent to ladder also, thus im having 2 nicks on ladder eventho i didnt want to - and so will i be a cheater????

Olaf has sent me a new version of XCL_Proxy that will send the results to this server. I hope to have something working tonight so we can test it out. This will give us more control over the ladder and be able to set out rules like both people must have the program running, how long games have to be, starting cash etc.

Well since we would be able to check most of the game variables it should be possible to only allow games that use those rules to be added to the ladder.

As for BC games we could possibly create our own clan manager but it would take a bit of work.

I am willing to help in any way. Would there still be a [TAG] to affect our names on WOL? or would it be more like a list of this person and this person in a clan and these guys are in a clan... ???
