When I go to my profile, then ask for my stats, it gives an error.

I was thinking, if new downloads are not added to the download section that often, how about creating a torrent file for each section (Emperor, Dune2000, Dune2 etc)?

That way people can keep the downloads up when the server is down. When they download the torrent, if they only want a specific file, they only have to select that one and not download the entire contents of torrent. For example if they want a fan made emperor map, the person would download the Emperor torrent. When the torrent opens, only need to select say "Voodoomayhem LAN Map" and leave all other files unchecked.

Using this would mean less bandwidth, and a way to ensure downloads are kept up when download server down.

Unfortunately my internet sucks and I can't use torrents otherwise I'd help seed.

I forget how big the download section is.

Downloads have been down for 2 months. Do we need a hat fund?

Is the main reason for the download section not being available the lack of space or bandwidth?

If so and we do need another hat fund, how much space / bandwidth are we talking about here?

Well the problem is not bandwidth because we have a lot of that but that it eats up CPU/memory which there are caps on. I have made a couple modifications to the download script and we'll see if that helps. As it is now I pay ~$40USD/month and am at the top of the limits for that. So with downloads enabled I will likely have to boost that a bit.

If you consider a download location on the other side of the ocean to be a valuable addition to the site. Either as backup, second download option or just to spread the webservers load let me know. :)

Is anyone else having issues with the forum time not properly detecting Daylight Savings?  Just checked some of the recent posts, and I noticed everything was an hour behind.

A quick visit to my profile and I was able to auto-detect the offset as being 9 instead of 8, which has fixed the problem.  Is this always meant to be done manually, or is their a glitch somewhere?

I've messed with my time in preferences for past month or two. I thought I was 4, but apparently it is 5 to be correct.

According to google I am correct and it should be 4. But for whatever reason it has to be set at 5 in order to be correct time.

The webserver probably is on UTC and not effected by daylight savings time.

Ah, that would explain it.  Just have to remember to set my forum time backwards or forwards on the appropriate days, as well as my clocks. :)

Hey Gob, wouuuhouuuu! I sent an email at his FED2k address and I'm pretty sure he didn't receive it or he'd have answered. Any way to confirm?

Just a note to say I am testing out a new script that auto-manages the server resources as we are charged based on how much we use. It may or may not cause issues with site loading so let me know if you get any access denied issues.
