Day before yesterday I tried to email O Great Gob about the site being down but the email didnt get through, "relay not allowed" or somesuch.

Humbug.

I get this strange error:

And certain parts of the forum simply don't display text and only weird buttons with not text (like when I change profile settings).

Ok, My email dissapeared beside my name.

And the option is now in my profile.

I cannot find this function. Also when I visit a topic all the buttons above work but when viewing all the forums they are gone. The forum looks broken.

Thanks for the screenshot. That looks very wierd. I'd try clearing cache and cookies.

the forum works normal during posting and when not logged in, but when I'm at the main forum page and logged in it does that strange thing in the screenshot, also when I want to change my profile settings, it's very annoying.

and I tested just with cleaning my cache but the problem stays.

Go into your profile and select

Look and Layout Preferences

and use "Current Theme: FED2k". Maybe that is causing it?

I changed it to FED2k and some others a couple times together with a clear cache but the problem stays.

I looked into the source code of the website and found that images were not displayed from the dutch folder, so I changed the board language back to english and now everything works. :)

So could you or disable dutch or fix it. thank you for the help.

Hey Gob, is it still possible to put polls on the main page?  If so, could we have one asking if people are excited at the prospect of a new Dune film, or something along those lines?

In the FAQ it still says

the size is incorrect. It is missing px. It needs to have for an example

I'm sure this was mentioned before, but I was reminded again that I don't notice an url icon for fed2k forums. It shows up on dune2k.com (the eye).

Of course a firefox bug has my fed2k bookmark with a Canadian flag from weatheroffice... Maybe if fed2k had an icon firefox would not be able to steal it as easily.

Odd question, but how do you view someone's user name as opposed to their display name?

Hasn't been possible for a while. It used to show in profile, but not anymore.

Gob, in the summer I was wondering if you could send me the Fed2k website files, so I could have a play around with them, and perhaps redesign it.  Would this be possible?

Isn't this a SMF forum. You can download all the files yourself. Any custom stuff (like images) can be downloaded from this website.

I don't like forums with too many flashy features and pointless things that distract you from the actual discussions. Maybe one or two extra features would be useful here, but we must avoid clutter.

I think you'd like the 'ColorizePost' mod, as it allows you to set the colour of your posts in your profile, rather than type it in on each post.
