The first thing I saw when I joined was the massive Riper-vs-Everyone Else flame war in Dune Editing...Hmm, perhaps someone else should start. :P

i would like nothing better than for Gobalopper to somehow dig out that first thread i posted on. That was in 1998 (i think?) and we were starting work on the (now derelict) A2k project. It is very unfortunate we never created a place to upload all the 3D models created by Thufir Hawat, Proclone, myself and others (Marcel, i think). i had lost everyting i've made since.

One of the reasons i'd like to revisit that thread is to see how many of our (then great) ideas mysteriously made their way into Emperor...

Thufir was realy great -> i still have this pic of the quad he designed. If he was this great then, i'd love to see what he can do today. Mind, Procolone's Devastator was also stunning... 8)

I remember the thread which started off the religion topic, and a discussion about what happened to earth in the dune universe, the Sun going nova... I remember when there was no Gaming, Fanfic, Tech support, Dune Editing, FHD strategy, D2k strategy, Landsraad, Dungeon...

I remember when the boards were less full of rubbish, people asking the same questions every other week...

Hehe nema I remember the times where hardcore fans populated Fed2k in the very few boards. Ah the transformation of Fed2k from the very old boards to the old boards to the new boards to the current boards. Remember I read those threads without registering, it was fun, and even more so when I registered.

I think Edric, Falconis, and I all joined round the same time, some of us just didn't actually sign up here on the forum for a very long time. I know I didn't until very shortly before becoming staff. Falconis may have been around a bit longer though, I'mn ot sure, can't remember exactly when I first came. It was december of something, but I can't remember the year. I never posted in the forums back then becaus the forums were the worst, most confusing set of message boards I have ever layed eyes on.

A lot of the really old members would remember the Discus boards we had. I'm pretty sure those were the first forums we ever had. It's how the whole "creations" section of the website came about. That was back when Dune 2000 was being developed.

ahh I remember before I joined the forums. I had this site as my homepage. I remember the old outlay with the add bar made by orlok. With the sandworm on the sand with old old 3dstudio max. Looking a t all the articles and news and stuff. waiting for the hoping of a Dune 3 game. hehe
