Devastator_Mech
Obviously for the NIAB, but it could be for the Devastator too (adv. carryall)But you think the NIAB could run away from Devsatator's missiles?
Baronvonflames
i dont think so
Devastator_Mech
There you go, the point.
ken124578
a. 1 shot from an guild NIAB tank kills an carryall, in this case the devastator.b. the misiles don't do 90% damage to an niab tank.c. the NIAB tank can regenerate, which the devastator can't. Devastator_Mech
Yes, you got a point there. If expensive units won't help, why not use cheap unit i.e troopers

Devastator_Mech
Sonic Tank... Back to topic...Cost 1400Veterancy Bonuses: Level 1: Additional Damage Level 2: Extra Armor Level 3: Extra Range, Additional DamageStructure Needed to Produce: Factory, Starport Sonic Tanks are the most controversial Atreides units. Some believe them to be a panacea for virtually any ill. Others find them overpriced and not nearly everything they're claimed to be. The truth is that Sonic Tanks are difficult to use effectively, but when used well they're extremely effective.Sonic Tanks fire a sound-based weapon that shakes apart enemy units, both infantry and vehicles, causing incredible amounts of damage. Virtually any unit that the Sonic Tank's burst hits is destroyed. Unfortunately, that includes friendly units so the Sonic Tank must be on the frontlines of combat. Worse, the unit's weak armor makes it an easy target for destruction. Look familiar? Its from the WW site.
Timenn
I found them very effective in the Giedi Prime mission of Atreides, when the opponent attacks you with loads of tanks
Devastator_Mech
Because it could do multiple kills. When it reaches level 3, it has a devastating long range and could destroy a Harkonnen Devastator 1 v 1 head on.
TLContaminator
projected, lots of them
Devastator_Mech
I'm you have something more important to do than this, and i'm its not worth the time to do so.
TLContaminator
what? im talking about the sonic tanks
Devastator_Mech
Yes, its not worth the time to project sonics, they're rage are too short.
Timenn
Hmm, Sonic Tanks are also good, because they can take SOME damage, and splash damage is a thing what occurs alot of time
Devastator_Mech
We're talking about projections, which could take NO damage, but could be used as bait.
TLContaminator
sonic tanks also has a poor armor so alot of projected ones are better
Devastator_Mech
As it said, its nothing more than a waste of time, they're too short ranged.Time is EXTREMELY precious in multiplayer, it's totally different from playing an AI.
Timenn
I was referring to the real Sonic TankI just stated an option for single player...
Mad Rhetoric
Sonic Tanks suxxors. They are a huge waste of money, and in most cases building them is a very very bad idea unless your enemy is already dead anyways. It seems nav lives only to insult.....
Devastator_Mech
Although thats sometimes the case, but he's right, unless you could cover the Sonic tank so well .....
IxianMace
It would be too much trouble covering the Sonic Tank, the best thing you can do is airdrop it next to enemy units (so that it doesn't get targeted and killed while it's moving on the ground to attack) and then let it do its work. It'll most likely be destroyed, but as long as the Sonic Tank destroys more enemy units worth than it cost to build the Sonic Tank (or buy it, in the case of the starport), you'll still have caused the enemy to lose more money, which puts you on top. Anathema
I've never used them in the few games I had in multiplayer- to much management, and for what benefit? Minos would probably do better. If anybody knows how to use them right, I'd like to play you sometime to see it in action- though you'd have to wait some time, since I'm having comp problems at the moment. Navaros
if you are gonna drop something then Sonic Tanks should never be what you tie up your ADV with LOL There is absolutely never any reason to build them unless your enemy is already dead and you just feel like using them to see a few pixels you haven't seen before. VigilVirus
Sonic tanks are quite useless indeed. All they do is take up money and destroy each other and allied units if in groups. They can also be easily taken out because of their weak armor. Mino is so much better.
Inoculator9
What you do is take them to the outskirts of an enemy base, that way you will only get minimal attacks, and they come straight at you. Let the tank get elite, and then only minimal hits are devestating.
