A lot of red cross work is to do with blood donations, especially here in england where there isn't much else that they can do.

I would except I have many excuses not to. Among them the fact that it's technically illegal for me to donate blood. One of life's little conveniences...

then what's really the point of having red cross when there is nothing else to do than to donate blood. we in norway learn all kind of stuff, survival in the cold norwegian mountains and much more. that is how I see the red cross. when I think of the organization I think of rescue operations in snowy terrain in mountains.

And why is that dust scout?

'Lifestyle checks.'

In other words, gay people can't donate blood because we might have AIDS. A very open-minded nation, you can see...

Thats Crazzy! Second to last day of school they had a massive campaighn in my school for blood, no one ever mentions the fact that the red cross is led by a very enterprising network of vampires..

I don't think I would want to donate blood.

Especially if it were the people that worked there I met while camping that said they smoke up while working.

I'd donate blood, but I can't stand needles.  Oh, those little bitty innoculation thingies are fine, but those big honkin' intraveinous things make me incredibly nervous.  My mom tells me "oh, you have a rare blood type, so you should give".  The way I see it, if it's so rare, then there are less people who need it.  ;)

So I'm a wuss.  Go to hell.

18 here in the States, I think.

Those needles are rather frightening, I didn't see it until they were ready to take my blood.  Minimal pain though, I barely felt it, to be honest.

Of course, that might have had something to do with the twenty-something nurse propped on my knee... 8)

I tried to donate blood once, but they would'nt let me due to the fact that I'm diabetic and have a couple of piercings.....total bullcrap! >:(

Your blood would've killed someone, don't you learn anything about biology in school?  I'll make it simple, diabetic blood - bad blood.

I think it's good to donate blood...@least until the bio engineers haven't leraned how to create synthetic blood, but they'e quite close to it. Never donated blood myself though...I'm kinda sick person myself. Not smth seriuos, but I ate quite alot medicine when i was a child  :-
