12th SS division, go home, and make way for the real men, make way for the 2nd SS panzer divsion.

That is right, I vote either for the 2nd SS divsion "Das Reich" since it was in every major German offensive during WWII, except for Norway and Denmark and North Africa.

Though I also have a soft spot for the Danish royal guards

The SAS division based at Hereford...where Rainbow Six are based as well, not really of course.  I can't remember their name but they would own the lot of these people posted about above.

7th Panzer division...

When invading fracen it moved so fast and violently that the Allies and Axis nammed it the ghost division becouse they could never find it...Took more ground faster then any other unit in the invasion of france...

Lead of course by rommel.

The BEF - British Expeditionary Force of WW1.

They fired their single-shot rifles so quickly that the Germans thought they were under machine-guin fire.

Since it said 'favourite' rather than 'toughest'...

English Longbowman. Until I can think of something better, they wiped the field with the French at Agincourt.

EDIT: Maybe Spartan Hoplite. Now there was a successful solider...
