The first one is better. It's more or less original (though elements from the games are obvious); but the second one is really not so good at all. Predictable, it also leaves most of the charm of Tomb Raider behind, and in many respects is just a copy of the first one in different locations.

hah funny, for me it's completely the other way around. ( i haven't seen part 2 i think) But i didn't like the Tomb Raider games at all. But Tomb Raider the movie was a lot of fun to watch. Besides... she's got nice lips.

FF1 was the last game Square could publish at that time. Luckily they did made it, else Square would have long gone bankrupt and we would be missing a lotta games...
