Scar asked me to get on XWIS using a PM and I wanted to check if I had missed him by the time I saw the message but couldnt find the link on the xwis website nor on dune2k... ???

Hey Gob, is it possible that some of the maps got lost in the switch over? I was playing a new guy (sksmsjso) last night who wanted to try one of the maps that Duke Davis made for me, but he could not find them on the website. There aren't any from  2006 in the list. Let me know if I have to re- email them to you.

Yeah someone else pointed that out the other day. I will try to figure out why that is tomorrow. The files are still there so I think its just a database thing.

Server is running slow and I also received a HTTP 500 Internal, so I know its not my compooter.

Is it a temp thing ?

I'm getting connection error lots.

SMF had problems connecting to DB, this might be something to do with high traffic, or a message to that effect, all night yesterday. The DB server temporarily overloaded ?

Al seems nice and speedy now.

There was a DoS attack on one of the servers at Dreamhost and I believe that affected us as well when the network got overloaded.

Still shows us using 2 year subscription. But you are correct the funds are a bit low to start off.

Lately I notice Fed2k unreachable at times. I try to come to the website/forum but no response.

Yesterday evening I really wanted to post some stuff I had found but it seemed Fed2k was down for a bit. Did we have an outage here?

It might have been the server itself (DreamHost), as I had also trouble getting my dune2k mail. But that was yesterday only, I haven't noticed other downtimes lately.

Actually, I just logged in to say that I have been unable to log into the main page for about a week or so. Makes it hard to look up things without the entry page. But I can access other stuff (forums, images, etc.) just not the actual dynamic pages.

And if it makes you feel any better Gob, Dune2k is the #1 (and about only) source for Dune game info on the net. So without this site, info on my favorite games goes dark.

Well I know they have been having some issues according to their status page. The main page does load for me but it takes a really long time. I just got back after being away for two weeks so I will look into it now.

Ok, found the problem. The counter sqlite DB was marked as locked so it was causing some issues. Should be fixed now.

I've been having problems connecting to Fed2k for a couple weeks. sometimes it works fine and then instantly it goes down. sometimes can take several minutes to get to some threads.

It's not just you, a server side problem which effects all users. Only the forum part though as far as I can tell.
