I am sorry for what I said the other day on the this stuff will kill You see the term Gook didnt come untill the end of the Korean War. Korea is called Han-Gook. Gook means The Korean People. Han is for the nation of Korea. And as Both North and south korea were under Japanease rule. Saying Stupid Gooks was no more slang than saying stupid Indianaers.... But people must not have known this or relized it. And Took Offence . I am publicly Aplogizing for the incident. I am sorry. I will not Make the same mistake Twice. I sware to Allah.

Gook came into use in the korean war and in vietnam. in 68 and 69 it became the dominet slang term. the slang term used before that in vietnam,korea, and against the japanease was chink....dont know whare that comes from though

True but it is a dederogatory term for an Asian; derived from Korean slang for "person" and passed down by Korean war veterans. And knowing that you should not have used the word.

no its not slang. actully Mi- Gook is the actual term for a korean! but gook is the shortened version that most koreans use. Well they took away my landsrrad status and mod hood for it....

Well...I suppose I was wrong about the "gook" part.But in the "Jap" part,that was a little wrong,because even if you didn't mean it,some people(like gila.Well,I'm not sure if he is Japanese,but Ex,he goes to the same school with you,right? But looking at clan kikai,etc. I think there is a chance he might be.)might take it seriously and think that you well,frankly put,are rascist.So as long as you say you didn't mean it,and apologize,and will never do it again,and will serve the almighty Gob--oh,wait,off-topic.Anyways,as long as you really didn't mean it,and won't post it again,I believe you should have your moderator and landsraad positions back.

there's also a bunch of rumors flying here and there about some kind of 'other' forum for only landsraad but i'm not even sure about that. it's probably just something that landsraad members make up to piss us all off b/c we'll 'never' see it. lol. also gob tells me if you are landraad you can have a PERSONAL avatar. meaning that you don't have to use the dune-related ones. that's what i can't wait for. i'm hoping i can become landraad sometime in the next few months or something. and the dignity and fact that you ARE a member of the landraad is also very good. lol

I am the newest Landsraad member (I think) and there is a forum that I can read and post to now. I am glad to see that ExAtreides has apologized for the "slang" word that he used which, as far as us westerners here in the US are concerned, is known as a derogatory word toward Asian people.

huh? No offense to number6, but can someone please explain why a guy with 152 posts who is hardly ever here and has (as far as I know) very little contributions thus far gets Landsraad over other people like Earthnuker who have contributed much more to the forum say on the magnitude of 30 times? Any logic here I am missing?
