Medics would have been such an easy addition to emp.

They could have healed troops and even given them stim packs that make them fight like orcs with bloodlust.

I am going to do my best for emperor to keep it alive for as long as i can.

what a game what a display of marketing incompetence

:'(

what are your thoughts?

Yeah I think that medics would be a good idea for a mod.

Why they didn't do it in the first place i don't no even tho atreidies would be the only ones with it as harkonnen wouln't care about ther men

Nah i dont think a good idea becouse will modify the units balance, if atr have medics will have more one atr advantage ( air drones is the best advantage of all houses ) and fremens with medics will be unstopables, maybe sards medics is a good idea...

all houses should have access to medics

anyway the cost in time of micromanagement would be high i don't think that they would make a big difference to eveness. It would be just a interesting addition.

I agree with repro. Men units die so fast in battle, u would not be able to heal them.

The only unit wich will use it are feds..

But then, when a fed is being repaired it will lose his stealth for a time i guess, which makes them more funnerable...

So i think it does not make any difference to the game

Emperor has been dead for ages. ROFL. Nothing left to keep alive. What you see now is not Emperor, rather it's like the shadows left on walls right after the A-bomb fell on Hiroshima.

I think most of us agree that of the three houses, the Atreides would be most likely to have a medic (in keeping with their philosophy regarding the value of their troops) with the Ordos a close second. As a matter of fact, I'd come up with a unit concept, which I'll repeat here for convenience:

medic ($500)

Atreides; requires barracks and starport

Just like their Tiberian Sun counterparts in all respects.

Quotes: "Specialist reporting."; "I'm on it."; "It'll be done in two shakes."; "Got it."

I'd considered giving them a flare gun (ala the Starcraft medics), but...

What might make sense is for the medics (Suk doctors, IIRC) and some other units to be available from the starport... subject to the usual pricing fluctuations.

ethan ever heard of killing a scout or do they scare you? ::)

hmmm, they see stealth units enabling you to take out the fremen, and only cost 30bucks!

All houses must have access to medics, even the Harkonnen. Why?

Maybe they are very cruel and greedy. But that doesn't mean they will let their soldiers die on the battle field, just like in a real war.

About the stimpacks, I think only the Harkonnen must have stim packs, since they are brutal and aggressive. And a gun just like the engineer. :)

Ordos must have medics that run faster and the Atreides a medic that heals very fast.

wrong, most of the ordos have regeneration after vetrancy 1st.

Harkonnen don't give a crap about their men dying as long as they accomplish the mission, that's why they are considered to be effective. Cause in Emperor, if you try to save your units by retreating and stuff like that, eventually you will fail. And the idea that Harkonnen units work their best even if damaged is great.

Medic would be useless. No one would care to spend they time of healing their infantry, cause you can build it faster than you would be able to heal it, lol.

how about replacing the scout by the combined unit medic scout?

like that they would have more things to do than just scout and stand there... and they would be available to the 3 houses

people how about a mobile base? heals all units on ground, problem is we start reaching problems and we take one hell of a job to do, but this way every single ground unit can get repaired? and we can decide which specific units get repaired, so can exclude fremen

There are several reasons why Medics are a bad idea... (probably mentioned before)

Harks don't care what happens to their men

Ordos alredy have the self-healing, and so do Ix and Guild(?)

Some units self heal when they get to veterancy
