I am sick to death of that damn flashing AD at the bottom of my MSN Messenger list. It's time to do something about it.How can I get rid of that BS? I don't care what I need to do. Third party software, changing my IE settings... anything. That crap *needs* to go. One of you guys must know how to get rid of it. Please help.

its just an add man....whut it's gonna do...and it doesn't conflict with ne thing, does it?
HELL YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!It hurts my eyes. It's an eyesore, literally! It makes my eyes sore!!!!!!!!!! I HATE flashing Ads, they are even WORSE than popups (though I have software to stop popups and software to stop spyware). My IE is configured in such a way that almost *nothing* flashes in my Browser. Maybe you guys are content to have flashing images assault your eyes while you use your PC, but I am *not*.There must be a way to disable this flashing Ad, even if it's by third party software that is designed to do just that. Whoever knows the answer, please post it.

I have heard of Trillian before but I never got it.

Does it also get rid of the horrible "I want to..." column of MSN? For MSN Messenger 3.6 and under, that stuff was not even there (thank God!) and it's just another way for MS to invade your screen space with more Ads.

Also, can I use Trillian for MSN and *not* have it intregrate with Yahoo and ICQ?

And if I want to delete Trillian, is it painless or would I need to reinstall my other IMS?

I had Trillian verry briefly. It didn't conflict with any other IM programms at that time [ about 2 months ago ], You could use them at the same time when not loggin in to the same account. So guess conflicts son't be a problem.

And for uninstalling it, no clue. I formatted the hard drive after I was done with it. [ NaMpIGaI convinsed me to give it a trie on the Fed2K MIrc channel, so I got a old computer and used that, then formatted it and reinstalled it .. ]

But if you have a good uninstaller and regcleaner I don't think that would be a problem. But not shure though so don't blame me if things go wrong. .. ;)

Gob,

About trillian, i read a few weeks ago in PCMagazine that that program had an state of the art tech in spyware, so their traffic was not detected by software like ZoneAlarm. But i don't believe 100% in PCMagazine. Did u have any problems (like garbage mailing) ?

I use MSN for MSN, and trillian for the rest of things.

Nav, im not sure on your version, but if you go to the program files of MSN, you can find some pics in there, one of them might be the add, as all i have is a blank space.

And that sidebar can be turned off in the view menu.

Dammit Gob, how many times do I ahve to tell you, don't show people pictures of the nuclear reactor! One of these morons might actually figure out what we're planning on using it for!

oops, hehe, by morons, I mean, um, not you guys. And by what we're planning I meant waht the Iranians are planning.

Yes... they're dumb enough to buy that....

Darn Mahdi, you have a reactor in Iran...so much for keeping mine in Iraq a big secret. Is anyone on this forum not planning world domination?

Yes... it's in ... Iran... yes... that'll work....

Back on topic, I use trillian! Don't really ahve a choice. Gob made me. Said he'd hold back my paycheques until I got it. Now the damn mail mans just lost them all. Two years worth of cheques, lsot smewhere in the mail....
