Signature Images...

You have to think about the people who are not so fortunate to have highspeed modems. People using 56k and 28.8k (believe me, more than you think) wouldn't feel it being fair if they have to wait 5 minutes for a thread to open because a lot of members that posted had images and even bigger images. And you can hold all the individuality you want using characters rather than images. Like mine, which means I like british comedy and Monty Python, and I have a sense of humor.

i have no preference to add a photo to my signature, but i also don't wish to restrict others from putting a pic in their sig. People who abuse the privelage with large photos, or inappropriate photos can be dealt with on a case by case basis, it gives the moderators something to do

I'm quiet busy the way I am right now, thank you 8) (meaning in the tech forum). I'd hate to see that mods need to warn/ban people cause their picture in their sig is inapropiate.

I'd personally don't like sigs either. I don't mind a couple of lines of text, but some people seem to put their whole artistic life in there :P (not specificly here).

sig pics do suck, they are hideous and obnoxious.

PS: I bet i am not the only one who confused this with Avatars so maybe the poll could be a bit more clear so others don't make the same mistake? 'cause that results in inaccurate results to the poll.

You have "Signature"...now I may not be very smart vocabularily-wise, but this automatically gets me thinking of the signature at the end of our post. But I can understand the confusion here. Even though it says "signature", people might confuse that with the word "avatar" as they both look very similar. For once I sympathize with you Nav.

And you also have "Images"...now this may confuse someone when it's alone, but combined with Signature it becomes more powerful, more confusing than you can imagine. It becomes "Signature Images". Now hold up people, combined it can be pretty powerful and confusing, but once it's broken down it becomes a nice little doggy.

Not to sure I agree, it will depend on the maturity of members, many a sites I have seen, with custom avatar options, ruin the theme of the place, and this is still a dune site, I think you follow me.

Signature pics are fine aslong as they don't get to large, or to bright, if you know what I mean.

It is in the rules to not have too large images, but is it still possible? many people don't read the rules. Perhaps an actuall limit, i don't know.

I have little image but I agree that this huge can cause problems but not serious. I like mine but its not really important. For now only few people have them. I didn`t have any problems with any of them but its Gobs deciosion.

i think custom avatars might be good but they shud be specific sizes etc and relatively decent. Of course I'd still have my beloved Dust scout for mine.
