Alcohol!

As most of us are pretty grown up here, I thought I'd dedicate a thread to alcohol.  What do you lot enjoy drinking?  Right now, I'm drinking a chocolate flavoured beer, Floris Chocolat.  Next, I have a bottle of Cloudy Yellow, and finally a big bottle of King Cobra.

I have a small collection of Moet & Chandon at my home.

When I'm out or just enjoy a glass at home it's usually Grand Marnier or Ice Wine.

I like Jack Daniels and various other bourbon whiskeys. Of beers I like Young's special Ale, Zwyiec, Budweiser, Carling, Greene King IPA.

Beer: Alexander Keiths or Moosehead Premium Dry

Rum and 7-up/sprite.

Sometimes get into red wine. That only happens around once a year and I always regret it.

Port. Because it's damned fine, especially with strong cheese.

My favorite drinks, in order:

Beer

White wine

Gin (w/tonic...)

Red wine

That's mostly what I enjoy drinking.

When choosing drinks for dinner, it depends on the meal, of course.

Beer: Kirin Classic or Yebisu. Asahi but only rarely. (Suntory were whiskey makers first and still do both extremely badly.) Various micro-brewery things when I'm home in the States....

Sake: Anything from Niigata or anything karakuchi (sec, dry).

Wine: Almost anything red. Particularly fond of Rioja. Chianti.

Whiskey: Single-malt scotch. Lagavulin or Talisker. Any bourbon if for mint juleps. ;)

Gin: Tanqueray

How similar is it to ouzo?

(I got drunk on that one time at a Greek festival at an Orthodox church in Columbus, Ohio and actually saw God. :D )

Quite similar to Ouzo, I've had that a few times as well.

Ouzo has a slightly rougher taste, Sambuca is usually quite smooth.

I can drink lots of Sambuca, but I struggle with Ouzo.

Have you ever made Gas Chambers with Sambuca?

No but that sounds awesome, how do you do it?

Set it on fire, leave it for a moment, then pour it into another glass, turn the original upside down and suck the vapour with a straw.

Let's see.. the enjoyable mix for me is;

A bottle or rum + coca cola + chocolate + cigar

If it got alchol in it then i've probably at sometime drunk it..favourite is still a nice cold lager(Corona with lime) but if going down the spirit line Vodka is the best...Wine a nice crisp chardonay or a fruity rose..

The most alcohol I consume in a year is at christmas, and it's from the pies and puddings.

Otherwise, it's tea all the way.

He puts whiskey in the tea, you just know it.

But I certainly approve of alcohol in food. Christmas pudding, with little blue flames licking all around it... Mmm.
