Help! Dune school assignment

Hello,

I'm doing some school assignment about Chapterhouse and House Atreides (I have to compare 'em), and I need to find and include some newspaper/website articles having something to do with these books!

I haven't got the faintest idea why a newspaper would write about Dune-related subjects, so I' m pretty much stuck. Does somebody know what I should do?

You could use the search facility on either the forums, or, better, do the same with Fed2k News. Also look through Davo's newsletters - now discontinued - accessible from the main page.

In my school when we were talking about favourite books (not very normal lesson it was ;)) and when I said about Dune, people even didn`t know what it is. Only some that played Emperor, but book? Chapterchouse? No way! >:(

May I suggest the last one with Kevin J. Anderson?  It is probably the best of the collection.

Okay let us look at this.  The bene Gesserit are scheming to get House Atreides genes in the book House Atreides.  In Chapterhouse those Atreides genes are considered a curse.  

Its just one of many points you can compare.  Good luck.

well I got some more info, and what it actually boiled down to was finding articles which had something to do with the book itself, not about the books. Utterly useless if you ask me, but i managed to find an article about growing desert (like on Chapter House), one about terraforming Mars (Kynes' work) and one on Viagra (kinda like spice  ;D

There are some articles about ornithopters that have been made, most I know are from the States, university's and sutch.

With one of my first exames some years ago I had an English literature list that consisted almost entirly of Fantasy and Science fiction books. Dating from Beowolf [ ofcourse ;D ] to present. And the Dune saga [ 1 - 6 ] had to be on it.

it's extremely cool, and i know how we can make this happen more often, we must all start to make everyone we know read dune and hopefully all that before and after, and then the Duniverse will have a second golden age

I once did an oral exam on Dune, the teacher first did not agree I read the book, because it wasn't 'real litarature' but I got him so far to let me do it.
