The idea is to buy small extravigance rather than everyday or practical item, problem is SHE always comes up with stuff for house, kids or clothes which defeats the whole object  ::).

one of my married friends always gets his wife something completely unexpected.  He usually buys something he knows she wants, but not something she would expect to get.  or he just gets something he knows she would like, but would never think to ask for.  Try something like that? instead of the norm. being something she would ask for, or expect to get. just a thought.

Best Christmas present I ever got. I was Lego crazy back in the day.

Mostly because I was somewhat surprised to get it, as it was such a big present. I think it would have cost close to $100 dollars. Currently selling for new at $250.

German for potato, though the plural is actually kartofflen, or something with similar spelling. It's been over two years since I studied German, I just know that it's not kartoffles!
