For Nema's benefit,

Pwned here is no uniform way to pronounce "pwn" as it is most often encountered in text. Possible pronunciations include:

    * (pōn) (rhymes with "moan")

    * (pān) (as "pawn" in chess)

    * (pōōn) (rhymes with "soon") This comes from pronouncing the "w" as in Welsh

    * (pw

I mean... you can't even pronouce 'Pwned'.

actually I know a lot of people who pronounce it like pawned with a missing a. this is related to good old chess where the pawns always get pwned :D

Ew. Not funny. Anyways, I need some help here. Some people pronouce Pwned "p00n". I pronouce it Pawned, hence the A.  ;) Which way is it said?

You properly pronounce pwned as p"oaned", much like owned but with a p. It derived from within the MMORPG ranks when fast typing skills were necessary for effective teamwork and communication, and the word "owned" was spelled wrong as pwned so many times that it caught on and became the intent of what they are trying to say. You have all been pwned.

The small p kinda looks like an o minus the little line.      po

owned

pwned

Much like people use l33t to replace letters with other characters that may resemble the old letter (in a small way).
