A simple and straightforward poll regarding the upcoming US elections. The actual purpose of it is to see how international opinion differs from US opinion. If you live in the US, pick one of the "US vote" options. If you live outside the US, pick one of the "International vote" options.

...what doesn't matter as it's sure that George will win anyway  ;D

You haven't been watching the news lately, have you? ;)

Besides just voting on the poll, I think we should also give our reasons for picking the candidate we voted for.

I voted for Ralph Nader, because he is the only one out of the top 3 candidates that has any intention to challenge the corporate capitalist system and make things better for the vast majority of Americans. Of course he's not a socialist (let alone a communist!), but he's the closest thing we have. He wants to extend social programs, protect the environment, improve civil rights, and repeal the Patriot Act and the Bush tax cuts. He wants to re-establish Roosevelt's vision of a strong welfare state, at least in part.

I did not vote for John Kerry because he doesn't need my help. Unless I lived in a state that looks like it's going to be hotly disputed (like Florida in 2000), I would vote for Nader, not Kerry.

Edric will love to hear this (although I'm sure he already knew): Kerry is considered the most liberal member of the Senate.  That shows you how right-skewed American politics are when compared with Europe.

Nader has been lobying in washington for nearly 30 years...

Not to mention he is the only one who dosnt have a scandle or two tied around him...

You kinda missed his whole illegal funds scandal going on in his campaign, haven't you?

Bush is mixing religion with politics so much that he's pissing Church officials off by asking them to hand over Church memberlists for contact information, after getting them on his side with faith-based initiatives. That's the primary reason I am voting against Bush, and for Kerry.

I voted Kerry.  Why?  Because four more years of Bush, and you won't need photoshop for this...

Erm, Duke, I've seen that picture before. It's a real snapshot - not made in Photoshop.

Of course, in all fairness, the guy is really only waving, and got caught in an amusing position. :)

Well, after some of his recent comments in San Francisco (which involved open support for capitalism), Ralph Nader lost my endorsement. You see, the whole reason I would have voted for him is because I was under the impression that he was one of the "good guys" - but as it turns out, he's just another "lesser evil". And as far as lesser evils go, at least Kerry has a real chance of getting elected, so he's got my official endorsement as of today.

Nader is great at being against things - against corporations, against excessive capitalism, etc. - but he never made it clear just what exactly is he for. He seems to change his views on a monthly basis, depending on which third party is funding his campaign, and I've had enough of it.

I voted for john Kerry, the main reason being, in his speech he said that he would listen to Europe, which is a good thing, and the part about NATO was encouraging, I also think that john Kerry looks like a cardboard cut-out, and he might lose votes for that, he seems to lack charisma, I WAS impressed with the speech by Ron Regan though, damn now he would be a good leader.

Shy  ::)
