:O could you describe the different types of rushes? And what you would probably do against each. ;D
-
hey in the harkonnen 2nd to last mission against ordos, I had an EITS that followed my fedaykin but never detonated.
-
At least they dont have any cysknife infantry.;D Shield do not get depleted, they just stop fast projectiles and become an A-bomb against lasers. Sandstorms kill people in a second or two by ripping the skin off their bones and then shredding their bones. They also bring down shields and cut through metal in a few minutes. Spice blows are enormous explosions of spice underground that can destroy a harvester. Shields attract sandworms and send them into a frenzy. Sandworms can go over 60 kilometers per hour Ordos?:-/ I don't think Herbert ever envisioned a computer game partially based on his books. at least all WW did was copy the basic storyline and use it to modify RA2

Snipers can become drill seargants as well ;D
-
How many NIABs do I need to bring with me in order to kill a harvester, Conyard, factory, starport, etc. in one hit from each.
-
I like to kidnap harvesters and put them down far enough away from the enemy base. Then the air drones kill the carryalls easy. If you can put an MCV on a piece of rock and build a wall-cage (then rescue the MCV), then you can kill the harvesters with infantry and possibly make them elite for use as drill seargants. Remember that all the advanced carryall has to do is get in and getout and that diversions can help to keep the enemy off guard. Fremen can take down whatever units are guarding the spice field in a quick suprise attack.

I have never seen/used contaminators even against lone kindjals. The most useless unit in the game(except perhaps the NIAP flyer)
-
maybe there is a way to recreate the situation and have insurance on spice harvesting ;D But maybe thebig worms could still get it... :-/

WHAT is leet?!

I figured out a way to get my light infantry to elite.(it works in campaign) Against all infantry attacks, I use my snipers(plural) to kill all of his mortars/flamers/snipers/sardukar/contaminators, then I use the light infantry to clean up the light infantry and troopers. If there are vehicles, then I use mongooses/kindjals to weed them out. I haven't figured out what to do if they show up with fremen If I get level 3, they immediatel go to the barracks. If I get level 2, I make sure they get the last shot on the big kills and hide them in the stealth APC when they are not fighting.

thanks, I will try all of that and it sounds like it will work. About the starting money amounts, if everybody starts with about 10,000 do you think they will rush?

fremen fadaykin cannot kill fremen warriors fremen fedaykin have shorter range than warriors fremen fedaykin are more expensive than warriors fremen warriors are strong enough against infantry to kill most infantry with one hit these are reasons to usesome warriors with your fedaykin, but still use mostly fedaykin. -
I vote for exatreides because he has posts that I can understand and use for my benefit, but I would vote for Shiroko too if I could because I really appreciate his FAQs for Dune2000 and Emporer

when I face the ordos/atreides in single player and they have a palace, I have found a way to make the superweapon they use to be a joke. Against the Ordos I simply build about 15 cheap light infantry/chem troopers and place them in a group out in th e middle of nowhere. I then have nothing to fear from chaos lightning as the AI will attack these cheap units I could care less about instead of my more valuable units or my structures. If my opponent is Atreides then I just build a lot of light inf/chem and put them in a fence on the outskirts of my base. I can have assurance that they are not running anywhere.

I don't see any questions in his signature. :-/ -
[back on Topic] I beat this mission on hard by capturing ordos construction yard and factory, then using dust scouts to escort engineers to the outposts. I built a barracks and some more engineers. I also build a kobra. I used the kobra to help my dust scouts against the tlelaxu near the great hall, then used the kobra to detroy the living turrets from long range. when the kobra got leeched, I shot off the leeches with dusty scouts. after I captured the base, I hunted down a few renegade tleilaxu units and the mission ended.

As atreides, I once found a deviator in a crate, got it promoted to level two with crates, got it stealthed with crates, then used it to confuse my enemy when half of his assault tanks got destroyed and the rest attacked his base.;D Boy that was fun, until my other enemy appeared in my base with a squadron of NIABs :'(

Maybe its like on the movie "The Matrix", you get hurt while you are in the computer world, and because your brain thinks you are getting hurt, you get hurt in real life. or maybe its only a psychological thing, the enemy flame-thrower sees a minotaurus firing at them, they die from fright. Or a tank sees a projected deviator fire at them and they think they have to do what Mr. Ordos wants.

don't nuclear weapons destroy things on an atomic scale? :-/
-
Hi, you don't know me but I have read your FAQs for emporer and dune2000 and found them to be very helpful.
-
why don't you give them a death hand that takes out half the map as well ;D
-
or you could use those units to "open" the enemy's front door.
-
The only way I can ever seem to get light infantry/kindjals to survive is to have large groups of them. Then the veterancy is spread out though and useless for drill seargants.
-
I have found them the best way to destroy an ADP as ordos.

thanks, what is your build order usually. I have been doing something along the lines of conyard, windtrap, barracks, factory, windtrap, outpost, refinery(to be upgraded), refinery(to be upgraded), barracks, barracks, windtrap, hangar, windtrap, starport, windtrap, palace. I usually include flame/machinegun(atr)/gas turrets in there somewhere. what is your build order like? Should I build 3+ refineries? If space is limited, what should I omit? Where should I include the other factory? Is there a way to turn his rush back on itself and not only destroy it, but teach him not to rush as well? when I rushed, then I build barracks and factories like mad to minimize build time. Also, about the micro managing thing, how far can scouts go beefore they decloak?
