Additional Info » Alone in the middle of a barren desert, three tribes fight for control of the Escarpment. Who will win? This map represents more of a real Dune environment, with large expanses of sand broken up by jutting rock formations. Control of pinch points is a necessity; and each are relatively easily defended. Note: I *was* working on a colourwash, but then when almost done I discovered Photoshop LE doesn't allow editing/adding of individual channels, so I couldn't use Alpha 1 :( I am currently looking to see what else does that, maybe GIMP. The Harkonnen pipe in the middle won't have the oil slick around it in this version.

Additional Info » This map is a more intuned version of Knife fight with more rock, more infantry rock, and more spice zones. It gets pretty intense even with AI's fighting against you. I recommend quickly grabbing the spice fields and having air and ground dominance to fully rule the sands on this map.

Additional Info » Welcome commander. Radiation has been detected in the Fedaykin Summit province within the Tartarus Depression. As you know, it is illegal to produce or store nuclear weapons according to the Great Convention. We our sending you to the Fedaykin Summit to investigate this mystery. If our enemy is behind this, stop them. There is no telling what they will do with atomic weapons here on Arrakis. One final note about the terrain. This area of Dune has no cliffs of any kind, so the enemy could attack you from any direction. Keep your construction yard in the center of the base for maximum protection. Good hunting commander.

Additional Info » A large network of bridges and causeways connects eight buildable areas to a central bridge network that gives access to all other areas. There are several places where people have been fastened to poles or hung on gallows, and then left to rot over raging infernos. I recommend that you have a fairly fast computer when playing on this map, since the fire effects, various structures, objects, and bridges put a pretty high demand on resources.

Additional Info » This is a four player map with scattered resources. This means that early aquisition of spice will ensure more strength later in the game. The player's rock areas are divided by a Hall of Pillars, natural rock shapes and elevated areas all of which can be used for a tactical advantage. The pillars also have a scattering affect when you send large amounts of forces through, which may change your strategy entirely.

Additional Info » This is my second map. This time I went with a three player map. Put lots of spice in the middle, but there are some advantages to going to the spice areas on the side. The lighting is nighttime... This map has a lot of real estate, you should be able to get away with not expanding, but you may want to so you can get to certain spice areas. The bridges were pretty simple, although my first test allowed everyone to run off the edges and jump back on :P. Now the bridges work properly. (can't walk under them, but that is a game limitation) As last time, I made sure the computer players will be good and fun. I adjusted the AI areas so they go where you are going so there are plenty of battles. The battles in the middle can go on for hours if you aren't careful.

    Map Size » 256 * 256
Additional Info » Welcome to Caladan Commander. What brings you here is information, uncovered by our house agents on the enemy homeworld, to capture the Hawk's Nest. Built in the days of Duke Paulus Atreides, the Hawk's Nest is a pyramid shaped command base responsible for planetary security. If the enemy captures this complex, it would spell disaster for this planet and leave it wide open for an invasion. We will transport your battalion to the northern shoreline on the Southern Continent where you will drive out the enemy from Caladan. Good luck commander.

Additional Info » An imperial courier has brought an important message from the ringed planet of Kaitain. The emperor requests that we deal with an illegal stockpile of Spice on Dune. The Spice hoard resides on a remote, unpopulated part of the False Wall West called the Fires of Orion. Since our house holds the fief for Arrakis and the imperial Sardaukar are spread thin all over the empire, the responsibility fall on us to secure the Spice for the emperor. One last thing, spies in the imperial court have informed their house of the illegal spice. We believe that some of the houses intent to steal it so expect a fears battle for control of this region. Happy hunting commander.

Additional Info » Greetings commander. Our battle for Arrakis has brought us 1550 miles south of Carthag to the Hidden Mesa region. Field operatives indicate this will be a difficult mission to accomplish for two reasons. First, the region has a limited building capacity. The rocks which to construct a base are small, so building a large base will be cramped or take multiple mesas. Occupation of an opponent's stronghold is another option to consider when expanding your base. Second, there are no natural barriers to protect you. The enemy could strike from any direction, making defense difficult. Even with these difficulties, you are a capable commander with a proven track record for success. We believe you will prevail and bring victory to our house.

Additional Info » Greeting Commander. Here is your mission. You are to reactivate the R&D military base that was closed down shortly after the war. Located on the Western Continent, near Cala City, the base was used not only to supply the Atreides military, but also to research non-Atreides technology captured during the war. If you need heavy weapons, reactivate any building in the research base by using engineers. Every house and minor-house has a building in that complex. We are all counting on you, commander. Success and good luck. (This map was designed for infantry battle against the AI, however, you can build heavy weapons at your starting point.)

    Players » Eight
    Map Size » 256 * 256
Additional Info » The enemy has taken control of the dusty little town Canyon Rim commander. The town is vitally important because of two mega cannons located in the center of the city. Donated by the Guild many years ago, these cannons are used to destroy or deflect space debris from hitting Arrakis. Because its lies 125 miles from Arrakeen, the enemy plans to shoot down any spacecraft entering or leaving Arrakis unless there demands are met. This would mean a major interruption in spice production which would drive up the price for spice. Our forces have surrounded the city and it is your mission to move in and annihilate the enemy. Destroy the cannons if you must, or capture them. Its your call. Victory will be ours commander.

    Release » 2002-11-17
    Players » Six
    Map Size » 256 * 256
Additional Info » This is probably the most basic map I've made to date. I tried to get the top and bottom of the map to be exactly the same so they are a mirror image of each other, although the central parts of the map will have noticeable differences. You will also notice areas on the platforms where there are dark patches. Unfortunately, I could not find a way to fix this, so the patches may make the sides of the buildable platforms look somewhat unappealing. There is plenty of space to build a base on all six buildable areas, and due to this, ground access will be limited. Defending against ground assaults should be fairly easy, but engineer drops can be very effective on this map. This map emphasizes the use of infantry in battle, as there are many places where infantry can defend choke points around the map, like bridges. A good map for people that like infantry wars or like to build large bases with multiple production facilities of the same type. Note: You should preferably set the AI to 'Attacker' when playing skirmishes against the computer, since the two other AI modes like to build lots of walls in their bases, and if there are too many units and/or structures on the map you might not be able to build anymore until some units/buildings are destroyed. You might notice this if you have four or more AI playing on this map.
