What would you lie to see in another Dunesday Celebration?

I'm putting this in general in order to get more of a respones.

I've decided to consider holding another dunesday celebration (although this time I'd like to hold it over a weekend) and while several idea's ahve already been proposed, I would like to hear what all of you would like to see happen, or if you ahve anythng you would like to contribute to one.

Note: This is still in the brainstorming stages, it has not been decided if it will happen.

I could supply the Avatars; if people supply their Pics...ooo, the Winner gets it made into an Avatar!!

That is if we have a dune art competition, and a winner is picked there pic(other than being shown on dune art page) could have it made into an avatar.( or at least part of it so that you can make it out).

Dunesday celebration woudl be great!!!, I know of several things people coudl due. Emperor people make maps, Vanguard supply a song of Maud;Dib to discuss, emperor players play online games..the list goes on.

Well depending at the number of contestents entering a art competition, there could be a 1st, second and third place..And dont forget hand drawn could be acceptable.

Maybe even a Dune Jihad revival? I spoke too much..bwahhahhahahah. (that would be a lot of work, but if I got time possible to add all the rules and bugs we encountered) "V 2.0"

And this time when there is a poll asking "what did you think of Dunesday" I can say "It was great!" instead of "DunesDay? Huh?"

maybe a chat? with the VFX guy that was here during CoD airing?

Dune Fanfiction would be a good job for FanFiction people..everyone coudl contribute, maybe a new mod for Emperor?(Fed2k heroes maybe?)

Yes, a FanFiction and Art contest sounds incredible, my pencils have been itching lately ;) .

Perhaps a Smiley contest for those Smiley-talented.

And a new mod release at about the same time would be interesting as well...Emperor, Dune 2000, you get the idea.

Well, a big chat would be an idea. Just that people come to IRC channel. And not only the regular visitors.

Another thing is indeed Dune Jihad!

This time we play with people who will finish it!

We will work first on a better interface. (Anyone familiair with Flash/Java and wants to help?)

Are you sure there is enough web space to host a picture of that magnitude? It might strain and crash the whole internet :D Just make sure you compress them in a .zip then use .rar and then win.ace and finally .zip it up one more time. Do all that and it should be ok, I mean the picture can't be any bigger than Mahdi's sheep farm one and thats how he compressed his. Oh I forgot is ti going to be an aerial or satellite photo. ^-^

How bout a page on fed2k that we can do what ever we wanted on, one page, size restrictions, but we could put whatever we wanted onit.....

and what this fan fiction contest pretain?

I don't think we really need prizes. I think a lot of people would be willing to make some fan fiction or art just for the sake of having it displayed and judged, with nothing but prestiege as a prize. Of course, prizes would provide incentive, but they're not entirely necessary.

Ex: I would simply make it a short story contest. The stories must be based on Dune somehow.

I think things should stay Dune orientated... it is a Dunesday weekend. ;)

I can offer some special Sardaukar2k releases for the day the celebration is scheduled :) Perhaps get some screenshots of the new units ;) Or a map editor release, who knows ;)

It hasn't been decided if we will be holding one yet. They are a lot of work to organize, and multiple people would be needed to help with it, and then we need a lot of things to do. If we do have one, we are looking at the weeked of August 3rd.

Actually it woudl be better as "Dunesday Fanfic winner"

Dune Jihad..hmm..It would be much better for me to work on(high speed internet) in september.(no work eithor other than school)

We tried to finish Jihad, but it was lots of work and exams etc at the time. It woudl be much easier if it was an online game where people login to the game and play (simple though)(IE- A program to run it all instead of people submitting what they want done and then have someone do it for them.)

I can try to help with 1 hour a day on dialup.

BTW is there a Dune birthday or something in the coming months? FH birthdate, release of book/miniseries/movie/games?? (past dates to remember? to celebrate?)

Boards? ??? There are no boards.... maybe some left over 2x4's from building the Dungeon.... But no other boards.
