Why is there no option "one new board for Bush rants"? ;)

if you do that then you need a forum for "PRO-BUSH SUPPORT". Of course, other than me, I don't know who'd be there. so you can make me mod for that one. :D

I support Bush also

I dont suport a president that wasnt elected by the people. since gore got the popular vote ;)

and bushy wushy didnt.....

subtract the voter fraud, and Gore lost.

"vote early, vote often"- a very common saying in democratic districs. I know this for a fact, as my brother has been serving as a poll watcher for 5 years...all of them in heavily urban areas (nearly all urban areas in the US are pro-democrat. don't ask me why, its a phenomenom that I cannot explain, yet it is totally true)

Empr, I believe it is to do with the fact that the Democrats are slightly more Left; and the Left usually gets the cities, where there are more 'workers'.

That's why Tony Blair has so many city votes - the Labour party is supposed to be our left wing party. The fact is, it isn't. But most of those who would traditionally vote labour still do so.

There's also the fact that people who live in the cities tend to be slightly more educated, and would rather not vote a semi-illiterate cowboy into office.

You probably don't want to know this. . but I'm pro-Bush myslef.

About the voting, do you think people who aren't able to use a voting ballet properly are even entitled to vote ? ;)

[ I just forgot which American comedian used that in his show . so if anyone remembers and wanted to state that out. . I know .. ]

What makes you say Bush is illiterate? I can see the cowboy reference but he isn't illiterate.

Um (And yes, he actually said these things.):

"It's clearly a budget, it's got lots of numbers in it."

"If you teach a child to read, he or her will be able to pass a literacy test."

"Natural gas is hemispheric. I like to call it hemispheric in nature because it is a product we can find in our neighborhoods."

"'At risk' is how we label kids who can't learn."

Etc...

It means they have no education and can't read or write. Those statements don't prove either, you are bound to make mistakes when you speak as much as the president does on a daily basis.

*getting back on topic*

i voted for 2 new boards because it seems to me that there are enough threads to make 2 boards....

one question: if this/these boards are created are you guys (moderators) going to move out all of the more commonly used (perhaps even the old) topics into this new board?

Gob though its probably to late I want to say something.

Make a politics board NOT a relegious one. Think about it we all grew up with our relegion and made our choices weather to keep it and people are to damn stubborn to have a good relegious conversation because person A may not agree at ALL with person B and relegion just brings a flame war up only surpassed by a civil war in hell.

i'm sorry to get off topic but, i really don't see how these quotes make him illiterate people make mistakes when they talk all the time... i make mistakes a lot from just being too tired mostly (and if you were the president don't you think you would be tired??) anyway, you can find that many quotes easily and more on almost any famous person... people find those for a living!!! in fact i have a calander here that has 365 stupidest things ever said, i mean they find anything here are some of there quotes:

"****, that's the same one I broke a couple of years ago."

-basketball player Joe C. Meriweather after breaking his nose

"I have no opinion. I had no opinion before. I had no opinion at the time. I have no opinion now."

-Senator Hillary Clinton

"I always used to put my right boot on first, and then obviously my right sock"

-sportscastor Barry Venison

Question: " Which U.S. President do you draw personal inspiration from?"

Al Gore (campaigning): "Another Dark-horse candidate, President James Knox."

Posted

I don't get the last one...We had a president James Knox Polk... :-

BTW, I have that calendar, too.

And Gob: Bush had an education, I suppose, but you have to remember he graduated on D's. ;)

Al Gore isn't a dark horse candidate

definition of a dark horse candidate (from the dictionary to limit arguments): a contestant or a political figure whose abilities and chances as a contender are not known.

this board seems way too cluttered up with stupid stuff that doesn't belong here

best solution is, ban all talks of stupid stuff that keeps being posted over and over again by a few silly individuals in particular.

no threads about real-world-war/government/religion/God/ yadda yadda yadda. this is supposed to be a Dune site ffs, not dune/cnn

no boards either. this is a dune site. if they want to discuss that stuff, they can join a newsgroup or bazillions of other forums. what the heck does any of that have to do with dune? nothing at all. therefore there should not be any new boards on this site

Posted

Arohk, you do have a point about it being cluttered with random threads about politics/religion etc...

but i don't think it should be banned, that's wrong... but i do think we should make another board/boards on religion and/or politics to keep it away from other boards and where people can chooose to read it or not...

and this thread actually prooves your point... lol previously you can see that some people... uh hum ... were arguing about politics

the boards on general discussion such as politics, religion and anything else the minds of the members on this site can think of... are separated so that you don't have to read them... and if threads are posted in other boards not involved with that topic... there are moderators to move them, you could just not read the topics in the general discussion area as well, you have no obligation to read the general topics...

One point though;

FH's books all deal heavily with politics and religion (and sex).... That is largely their point.

Make a single thread for politics and religion; most people seem to want some sort of separation at least.

So I say; get the new board going, and appoint moderators later as the situation dictates.

I believe if it even happens and there are even moderators for it, that acriku should be one of them. Even though we disagree on a lot! dumb joe. ;) lol He is a very good debator and an all around smart guy. Plus he is very non bias. Also somebody with religious convictions to keep it level.
