I really loved the Fed2k awards by Vigilent. Very creative man. :) So I thought of making another survey kind of thing. okay here it goes.

I have people that I consider "online friends" here, but I wouldn't trust anyone online enough to call them a "close" friend, unless I've met them personally and I think I know enough about them to be sure. My way of thinking about internet friendships has been unaffected by my time here.

Definitely. I always read the information on the main page of Dune2k, and I check out the Duneuniverse forum. This site is sublime as far as news on Dune is concerned. It gets updated quite quickly, and I can appreciate that. :)

6: What keeps you coming back here?

The site, and the people that post here (most of them, anyway ;)).

7: What was your worst moment on this site, and what really pissed you off at any time here on the forums.

People telling me to shut up, flaming me for my views, and disregarding my arguments with only a few lines in their post. (I won't name anyone, so as not to offend. But it really altered the way I looked at the people that post on this forum, in general. I was very disappointed at that time). :(

8: Have you actually read all the articles, got some of the mods for dune games and read info about dune related stuff on this site? (I.E. not just going to the forums?)

I haven't read ALL the articles, but I try to read them, depending on how much time I have, and if they interest me. I've downloaded tonnes of mods for Dune games (Dune 2000 and Emperor: Battle for Dune), and I've actually made one myself. ;D I always read about Dune related stuff on this site, even if I only give it a quick skim or glance.

9: Have you recommended this site to a friend or family member before?

To some friends, yes, but they don't really seem that interested. To my family, no, because I live with my mother and "biological sister" (it's a long story I don't want to discuss), and I know they don't give a damn about Dune. So I don't bother them.

10: What do you want changed on this site? What would be a good thing added to it in your opinion? (This is just opinion and not going to do anything to change the site.lol)

It would be nice if there was a feature that updated a thread while you were replying to it (sometimes you post something that someone just posted about a minute, or a few seconds ago, because you were replying ot the post before that, and you didn't see the new one, hence your post has become irrelevant.

Also, I think the 'ignore' feature should make it so that you can't even see threads made by the ignored person, or posts made by them. Whenever I see <<<You have blocked this message>>> I can't help wondering what they said, even though I don't want to hear from them in general.

Additionally, I'd prefer it if the posts made by people in the thread you are replying to don't disappear when you preview your post to that particular thread.

Apart from that, this site is the best site on the web!! I have it set as my home page. :D ;) 8) I'll only come here less if I lose my internet connection, and have to walk to the library once a week (which is the limit on how often you can make a booking) just to check up on how things are going here.

Major reason is that I like this community. Another reason is that people require help. I like to help people out and I'm grateful for my own tech forum

Depends on how you define close freindships. I do see a lot of people as friends here. Actually, I almost got te meet Gobalopper, but due to circumstances we never got to it.

Gobalopper for providing a tech forum and the opportunity to help people here. Apart from that, all users for making this a great comunity.

No. I was already a great fan of Dune in general.

The great comminuty and the tech forum.

What pisses me off is the flaming that some people do.

Not all articles, but I try to read most of them. I did download the mappacks.

Yes. Number6 is one person who I recommended this site to. There are a few others (also Westwood/EAP employees).

Not much actually. I think this site has a great setup and is easy to use. I think we have great freedom in what one can do here. Maybe one thing I would like to see is more/other smileys

When I first came here I didn't even know there were Dune books just games. I didn't find out untill later when someone who had read Dune told me about them and got me a copy. But yes it did afterwards.

The company and the fan fics. Also to escape from my courseworkwork/peers/sister.

What pissed me off greatly was when my browser messed up my cookies and I couldn't visit for weeks.

A: It's because it is the only "real" Dune megawebsite, with not only hard core fans, but normal people. And so there is the Dune news and so on, unlike other websites where the last news were from like 1999...

A: Hmm... actually, it wasn't here, it was back at the old Dune Generations forums hehe..., but most of the people are here now... I think...

A: Well, I'd like to thank everyone who made this site, and as well everyone for participating in the message boards, so that I know I'm not the only one :P.

A: Yes. Well, actually, when I checked the "Duniverse" Discussion, and saw all the topics and how many (well, back then :)) topics that had the "spoiler" word added to them, yes :P....

A: The replies to my questions, as well as the answers on the question I post. And I also come back here to check other topics and participate in "cyber-conversations" hehe...

7: What was your worst moment on this site, and what really pissed you off at any time here on the forums?

A: Hmm... no, can't remember. I think there isn't anything that really pissed me off. Well, i usually never get pissed on anything that has to do with chatting and forums. I think everyone has his/hers oppinions on things, and I respect that. Of course I get somewhat irritated by people who tell everyone that "I think this and that, you are wrong!". Please people: write "I believe that this and that is..." and not "It is like this, you are wrong", like I said... anyways, next question :P...

A: Hmm, well I have downloaded emprwrm's music, if that counts :)... hmm... well I have downloaded the animated pictures of tanks and characters from both games, and used them to a remake of Star Wars: Rebellion, where I tried to create a Dune mod without any luck...: I needed 3D models suitable for the games engine :P.... Oh, and a mappack too, didn't really remember when hehe...

A: I have talked about it for some, but it seems that I'm the only person in this country that are really interested in Dune, as well as the only person who comes here to post etc...

A: Can't come up with anything now... well, if I consider anything so critical that you just have to add, I'll tell you... to be continued :O!
