TMA, me, I am Cosmic Jester, the man that knew too little but said too much.lol

Empr, your name is Thunder Text. You kill everybody with your lightining sharp text! lol

Ex, you are Sargent Pepper. Just because the beatles are so damn cool.lol

The "TMA'S" stand for Tycho Magnetic Anomaly. In the year 2001, magnetic signals boomed underneeth the ground of the plain of Tycho on the Moon. They dug and found a monolith. It was dubbed tycho magnetic anomaly 1 (TMA-1) because it sent signals to another monolith orbiting jupitor which was called TMA-2. THe name TMA stuck from the original found on the moon. Eventually TMA 2 which was given the nick name "big brother", finally multiplied somehow and actually compressed jupitor till the tempurature reached fusion in the core and created a continuing reaction, making it a small sun. Many of the moons fell into orbit of the new sun which was called Lucifer. Some stayed though. eventually one was found later in the middle 21st century on Europa TMA-1. Right near a new settlement of aquatic-like creatures. during the 26th century, another monolith was found on earth on the african continent. TMA-0. The reason why it was called 0 is because these monoliths are highly advanced "tools" of the highly advanced, energy built, aliens. They helped in our Evolution and many others in the galaxy. That is at least how I read the books of the 2001 series. I highly suggest them. I got hooked.

Ah. I've only seen a bit of one of the movies (the one with the joint US-USSR mission, where the star is created out of Jupiter). I guess I should read the series, since I've heard a lot of good stuff about it. I went to a bunch of used bookstores recently, but I could only find a whole pile of 2010's, and no 2001's. :(
