how can 3 chem troops that cost $150 destroy a building quicker than 3 assault tanks costing $2700.

Its cool at how effective at killing infantry but chemicals blowing up a building......

What are your thoughts?

This is another point i agree to this is a good time to say even tho it may destroy gameplay, that rocket launchers should destroy buildings quicker and that they should kill troops quicker.

I dont agree that hark troopers should be able to kill troops easy as when you design rocket launchers you design them for a specific purpose i.e armour piercing

You could get rocket troopers with anti personel rockets though on the other hand

Repoman, it answer lies in the Chemical trooper bullet. GasInf_B Bullet as far as I remember. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong). For some reason, Westwood made it so that the chemical spray does significant damage to a building. The bullet also damages the area of effect for a few seconds after the Chemical Trooper stops firing. I agree that its unrealistic, but that's just the way it is. :P

It is simple: In the buildings there are people working.

When u kill the people, the building has no use anymore.

The chemical troopers put all their gas in the building and then.....

*they light up a cigarete*

they are not equally powered, i mean the first infanttry of each house. Hark and Atrd infantry will never destroy a building that fast and kill an other infantry just as fast as a chemtrooper.

But i think that each house has a unit that can be exploited. Hark has Buzzs. Atrd has Mino's

i understand minos being strong, they cost alot and need support. and in the introduction, it says that minos "cause catorstrophic damage to buildings and infantry" that gives it away.

but buzzsaws?

Lately you 've been posting too much about unrealistic stuff in emperor. Well, you should understand this is a game and its purpose is not to be realistic!! If you didn't want chems to blow up buildings, go get another game (there are many realistic strategy games).

Speaking of unrealistic things in Emperor, isn't it crazy how Sard Elites' and lasertanks' weapon rips apart vehicles and buildings with ease, yet it is very weak against other infantry?

Oh, come on. This was all made to balance out the units. Each one was made to have STRENGTHS and WEAKNESSES, is that so hard to get through your heads??

I would kind of prefer a little more realism. Assault tanks and missiles should have more effect on infantry, because normal missiles have explosions, and tanks are actually a form of artillery.

Well you see, if missiles and tank ammo did a lot of damage to troops, units like the inkvine catapult would become useless. Anyway as you can see, there is not all around good unir in Emperor. For example - Mino is slow and has no air defense. Devastator is just incredibly slow. But by combining a Mino and a Mongoose which has excellent air support you can get a perfect army.

Well, the inkvine catapult is extremely ridiculous if you want reality. I mean, a catapult that hurls barrels farther than a missile tank can shoot missiles, a lasertank can shoot its laser, or a mino can shoot its artillery rounds! I think that that the inkvine liquid should have been placed in a chemical weapon such as a missile or a bomb rather than a stupid barrel. But yes, I know it's only a game, but I too would have preferred a bit more realism in some aspects of the game.

Emp is very unrealistic. Ever heard about artillery firing from only 15 metres distance ::)?

Or snipers from 10 metres distance ::)?

Or people actually survive a machine gun salvo ::)?

But yeah, it's just a game.

No man this game is all realistic. I mean just look at arrakis its just like my backyard man, orange spice melange and the little 100 ton worms jumping out of my sandbox looking for harvesters...
