You can't blame Churchill and Roosevelt. If it wasn't for American nukes, Stalin could have mopped the floor with them without much effort.That's what the Normandy landing was all about - getting allied troops as far east as possible, to prevent the Red Army from marching all the way to the Atlantic.Europe came very close to being unified after World War 2 - under the Soviet banner.Aren't we forgetting the best country - which would of benn taken over?The UK that is. It would not have been able to survive against the soviets. After a few years of economic blockade, Soviet troops would have been marching through London.And France wasn't in any shape to resist any invasion - as you can see from the way the allies liberated it. Britain was weakened, but by the time the Red Army would have marched to Berlin, they'd still have France to conquer - which would take some diplomatic time, to avoid more foreign intervention. Moreover, with the Germans gone, the British Empire and Navy would hve been able to keep the UK going for decades. Remember this useful little se, the Channel... it's rather difficult to invade across it, and the red soldiers would need some other help. War was won primarily by USA and Soviet Union. Hitler's mistakes were God's mercy ;D It was nuclear bomb, which prevented commies from expanding. It's bigger than most European countries, and being the way it is in just over 200 years it would have to be highly civilized. Civility is the opinion of its own society. Some Americans may think some African tribes are very barberic, while some tribes may think America is very barberic in that it cuts a layer of skin off every morning (shaving), sits down and watches tv and has no physical bearing whatsoever, etc etc. Goes both ways.
