Yes, saturday marked the day when all your computers would tremble in the presence of my new behemoth computing monstrosity (well...maybe not quite ;D) But I'm sure I could make most of you jealous (come on let me brag, just this once ;))...

-AMD Athlon XP 1800+

-ThermalTake Volcano 7

-Asus A7V333

-256mb Samsung DDR333 (soon to be 768mb)

-40gb Maxtor ATA-133 7200RPM

-MSI GeForce 4 Ti4200 128mb

-Soundblaster Live! 5.1 (good enough for me, didn't really need the Audigy)

-Samsung SyncMaster 753DF 17" FlatScreen (not to be confused with FlatPanel)

-LG 16X DVD (have a burner in my old machine, so no need for a new one)

-Windows 2000 Professional (already had it)

-1.5mb Cable

Average d/l speed = 160kbps

Max d/l speed so far (sustained for more than 1 minute) = 294kbps

-3D Mark 2001SE Score using DEFAULT settings [No OC'ing anything either] (1024x768x32) = 8484 (don't worry, when I get the extra RAM it'll be over 9000 for sure.)

edit: I have done some hardcore tweaking, and overclocking, and now I've got the 3dmark 2001SE score to 9850! :D :D Wait till that extra RAM comes...it'll be pushing 11000 :D damn right!

...Now you guys are all gonna have to go out and buy new keyboards! Why, you say? Well look, there's drool all over it! :D

Just like yours, but more RAM (512 MB, considering uprading to 1.0 GB) and more Hard Drive (80 GB, considering adding another 120GB). We only have a 56k modem, though...The service is too expensive here. :'(

Dammit, how much did it cost? I want to get a new comp...mine is like 2 years old....(8 Years old in computer years)

I shopped around, and got the system for $1771 CDN after tax (and remember there is 15% tax in Canada ( >:() so that is approximately $1150 USD in total. I could have got it for $130 (CDN) cheaper at another place, but I didn't trust their quality and service as much as the shop I ended up buying it from.

I could of doubt it is EXACTLY like man (you have the same mobo, and even the same fan!?!?!?!)And I wouldn't consider a larger harddrive better by any means. A 40gb hd will have much faster seek times, and I will NEVER use all 40gb anyway ;D. The extra RAM is a plus though. Like I said I will be buying another 512mb DDR333 in a few weeks, for a total of 768mb DDR333 ;).

Okay the one thing I can't beat you at is cable, because I don't have it. Cheap parents...not even letting me pay the ten dollar difference. >:( But happy you like your new comp.

Ya'll are lucky. Up until last may I was using a P1 166mhz comp, with 8mb of ram, no video card, and a 1.8gb HD! I'm currently using an P3 800mhz w/ 10gb HD, 192mb SDRAM, and an integrated video chip with a lousy 4mb of onboard video memory. In the most technical sense, I shouldn't even be able to run Emperor.
