the only one I fancy is you gryphon, thought you knew that

and Andrew, I don't think we'll be getting married this year, but I'm planning on proposing to her, and hopefully get her pregnant within this year.

Is the pregnant scheme intended to persuade an affirmative response to your proposal?  :P

not at all, we just want to start having children while we're still under 30, and that corner is closing in on us - rapidly.

To bring this forum back to life I'd say we need 2000 posts a month again...last time we did that was January 2006.  Ah the good ol'days...

2000 a month? Yes, that's a tall order. I'm starting to miss those days.. (despite my reduced activity back then) There was always something to read about around here every few hours.

The average US wedding costs around $15,000. Anyone smart enough would not spend that money and put it towards a registered education savings plan for their children so they can go to university when they grow up. Or they could blow it on a couple day ceremony. Then have a 45% chance of getting divorced within 30 years. And if you are part of the 45%, there is a 30% chance it will occur on your 5th wedding anniversary.

Stats Canada on divorce rate

Also if you get divorced when you have children they will develope mental problems. Study: Divorce and the mental health of children

Marriage sounds like so much fun!

Damn socialist countries! What will they think of next? Free healthcare? Only the rich and insured should have that right ;)

EDIT:

Oh yah Canada and Denmark are still disputing Hans Island. I say we setup a bar and a hockey rink there and let it be neutral ground where we can party.

actually she is blond, however I'll be sleeping alone tonight - she works night shifts this week.

In Denmark there's a debate of if we should keep giving Greenland money or make it a loan instead, according to american geoligists claims that there's oil for DKK 1.200.000.000.000,00 in Greenlands underground. That's alot of money....

Yes, I've been looking at those stats, and I can see why the number of posts per month declined in the years after the release of Emperor, but I don't understand why it declined so much in 2006 (and then remained more or less constant in 2007). What changed between January 2006 and today?

Umm, The rate of posts is still decreasing. It has never really stayed steady since Jan 2006.

If anyone has minitab, input the numbers and do some statistical analysis. :)

Well today we've had 60 something posts, and by the end of the day it'll be about 70 I guess (its quarter past ten at night here), so if we kept that up each day, we'd have over 2000 posts a month.  I've actually enjoyed posting so much today, and to see other people doing the same.

Yes, the more people post and start topics, the more that people can respond and have conversations.

When no one is posting, then it is difficult for anyone else to post because you feel like you are talking to yourself.

Emperor WOL servers finally went totally offline

Didn't that happen earlier? And we still have XWIS...

I actually did that already, back in the spring of 2007. I found exactly what I expected: the number of posts is falling at a declining rate. Our monthly post counts since 2003 fit pretty well on an exponential decay function. Notice that we had the greatest post rate per month in late 2002 / early 2003:

June 2003 - 7180 new posts

May 2003 - 7534

April 2003 - 9061

March 2003 - 13661 (maximum ever reached)

February 2003 - 12873

January 2003 - 13434

December 2002 - 11000

November 2002 - 11270

October 2002 - 12012

September 2002 - 12069

August 2002 - 9399

July 2002 - 6170

June 2002 - 3010

We don't have records from before June 2002, but I think it's safe to say that our post rate in 2001 was pretty much as low as it is today.

You know having a job isn't enough for her. If she doesn't get married soon you'll have to send her back the way you got her. . .. *cough*mailorder*

in Denmark we have free education. You only have to pay for the books.

So how's that been working out for you.

I am still flattered that you like me NaMp, if you are serious about kids shouldn't you think it is time you tell that blond about your little accident a while back..she has a right you know...
