A sitcom is a 'situation comedy', and covers comedies which revolve around a particular set of circumstances, based around a central location, etc.

'The Office', for example, is very much a sitcom: footage never ventures outside the building, there is a pretty fixed roster of characters, and much of the humour is within the context of these characters.

Me, I'm a 'Yes, (Prime) Minister' fan.

I didnt forget it, I just placed fraiser above it !

Blackadder, Red dwarf, spin city, 3rd rock from the sun...there are a few I liked. But fraiser was different for me.

I watched a repeat of 'Allo 'allo just a few days ago, after many-a-years ! Seems not to have dated too well, but then I only saw one part of a single episode, where the women are all after whats-his-name. Rene ?

Friends is good, but I prefer the British ones I have listed, the sense of humour just seems so different, event hough I can appreciate both types. Friends is quality throughout though ! ;)

my favourites are:

coupling, joey, scrubs, friends, american dad, the war at home, the office, futurama, the it crowd...

except for friends I also got every sitcom with all episodes released.

I love it since the first episode. really nice jokes imo. I like it more than his part in friends - and he was quite the funniest character in friends.

not really what we understand by sitcom, but some of the best (and silliest) jokes ever were definitely made in the 45th episodes of monty python's flying circus. awesome stuff, I love it...
