I had always thought exatreides was exatreides all this while. I remember the period of time when he was using the Paul Atreides from Dune I (Cryo) avatar.

If you're talking about the period before that, or between that period and the present... No idea. I used to get him mixed up with egeides too. No hard feelings, egeides :)

Acriku, didn't you have another account once? Muad'Dib or something?

I did indeed, it was MoiDib (a french play on words). Gob was gracious to convert the posts made by MoiDib over to Acriku, so I don't think the name can be found without being in a post said by someone.

Ah, I can remember when it the forum was made. I was never able to view due to some anti-adblocker script implemented by that site. But now I can...

I think MoiDib goes even further back, back when nampigai was still Feyd-Rautha ;)

Same here acriku, I can't stand avatar changes. Confuses me :P

I mean would everyone be confused if I changed my avatar? I've had it since January 2003 (name is just as old).

I was changing avatars for as long as I was active until I arrived at this and thought it was cool.

Well, name changes could mean 2 things:

1.) New account

2.) Change of name using Profile settings

Whichever happened?

Now name changes are extremely confusing, because there is no way to tell who they are (except by guessing member number or posts number). If you go to a users profile, it does not state the name they chose when signed up, it just shows the current name. That needs to be changed.

Hahaa! I remember the site. I think I even suggested ProBoards. It was a nice little retreat. By the way, people, how long have you been here, on Fed2k? I have been registered, with another account mind you, since March 28th, 2002. That was even before Dante, a whole month before. :)

Nostalgia was better back in the day. ;)

I drop in to the other board every few months, to see if anything's happening. I registered as well, but forgot my username.

Changes of name can be difficult to cope with (I've done it twice, I admit. Dust_Scout, Dust Scout, Dante. And there was a one-day stint as Drizzt Do'Urden, but that hardly counts. And there will be a final change, eventually...). Avatars less so, but when both change then it's just crazy. Also, when I see gunner154's avatar out of the corner of my eye I always see Gollum. You know how sometimes you hear a word and think something completely different? It's like that. I have to concentrate really hard to see not-Gollum. And when I stop concentrating for a second he comes right back. Damn you Gollum.

Yes, registered April 2002. A lot has changed since then. Everyone talked about 'the old WW boards' much more, for a start. Was never a part of them...

Ah... You think the nostalgia isn't what is used to be anymore?

Damns traight.  Back in my day nostalgia was something you had to earn, with an onion tied to your belt, fiftee miles uphill both way through the snow under a TV with no remote and only 13 channels (of which three worked).
