I think after all these years I have decided on a carear, at first I wanted to program video games, and then I wanted to be a writer(which i still do) But I think I know what I want to do now.

When I turn 18, and graduate high school, Im enlisting in the United States Army, and becomeing a Ranger. My grandfather was one of the Rangers who faught at Normandy in ww2, and my father faught the VC in the jungles of Vietnam. I want the benefits of being a Veteren, but I also want to keep the family traidtion and get my CIB( Combat Infantry Badge)

But i would also like to be a medic, No one ever said a medic couldn't carry a gun, And by the end of high school, I will be fluent in German. Haha!

After my term,(I havn't decided on going carear yet) I plan on one of two things.

moving to Isreal and joining their speical forces(Since all jews are citizens of Zion, and I think they would accept a Veteren Special forces officer, And I have always wanted to live in isreal, which i feel as a kind of home.)

Or Join up with the Soldier of Fortune outfits that Africa seems to like so well  and make lots of cash.

(If i dont get killed first  )

Havn't broken the news to my father yet, the nightmares of nam still haunt him. He wants me to go to college, but I think my mind is made up

Rangers lead the way! Uh Ah!

Was wondering what you guys plan on doing for your future? Have you even decided yet?

I've thought about this a lot. I have the Honors classes, and the grades, but I want to go to the Army. After that, depending on what my immediate choice is with staying or not, I want to become a History teacher.

Currently in 3rd year of 4, going for a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a minor in economics.

That is my #1 priority. If I don't get that or an equivilent education, my future is not too good looking. Having an extensive student loan and no work experience = poor for rest of life.

Assuming I get my BBA, I will work somewhere, possibly the tax centre for workterms for maybe 5 years until my student loan is paid off. (which will cost more than paying a monthly mortgage bill by $100, so more than $500 a month for student loan)

Oh, and When I graduate I will need a vehicle to ge to work, have no idea what I would get. After that wherever makes money and makes me happy.

Funny, I have a chance to go to university in the USA, Mexico, Sweden, Finland, France or another country for a term (or until done with school). But sadly I can not afford to go to another country. But I think it would be very cool!

though it switches around I suppose, my dad was i narmy intel during vietnam, my grandfather (on my mom's side) was a marine in the pacific theatre and my greatgrandfather (on my dad's mother's side) was in the austro-hungarian cavalry.

Army? What you all have no better targets? I would join only if we were at some war, or at least seriously threatened, but now we enjoy freedom and peace, so better take what I can carry and learn as much as possible  ;D

The only way I would ever join the army would be to become one of the guys who sit behind computers.  Some may call me a pussy for saying this, but I don't really fancy being out on the field doing any fighting.  I'm more of a thinking person.

Army aside, I'd still like to be involved in the creation of computer games.  Funnily enough, if I can't do that, I'd still like to write :P  It would seem that Rookie and I are quite similar in that respect.  But since the computer gaming industry can be hard to get in to / make a career in, I can always opt for a more general computing job.  The course I am currently studying at uni is B(ENG) Computing.  It's a four and a half year course, and I intend to get my degree with honours.  Here's hoping!

Dragoon Knight, not being in the field doesn't mean you won't do any of the fighting. Generally the people just behind the desk are more responsible for the killing actions and can kill a lot more then a guy upfront.

Rookie, don't think that you will know what to do the ret of your life when you are still < 20 years of age. Even onder 30 it's still not shure I think.

When I was still in school this wasn't really what I thought of. In short, I started with Uni philo and some cultural study degrees. Right now I corporations hire me fore my Cisco certification. Not really what I started with. Although it is what I like to do right now.

Do what you like to do. . and if you have then. . follow your dreams. . .

Most people I went to school with years ago don't do the same things right now either.

I can only say that an education can be verry beneficial for your carreer and yourself.

Yeah, but you don't have to actually put any effort into it. Press a button and there goes a town. Whoops! Heh heh...

I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I never have been. Currently I'm aiming at biological courses with a view to working in research but that might not last. Though I do know that I'm unlikely to find a job I'll enjoy since I like to work on my own, the way I want. If it was still possible to rise through the ranks via assassination then I'd possibly take to politics; I'm told I'm rather good at it (it's true. I can twist the truth to breaking point without ever directly lying). Then there's writing, acting, blah blah blah... I still haven't really made my mind up.

On the bright side, if I get through university then I'll always have something to fall back on if I change my mind.

Right now I'm in the second year of highschool, I think. After I'm done with that, I think I will drop further studies and start working at once as a programmer. Programming games and other applications. Right now I actually work as that, and I like it.

You should get your education first.

Because it would look a lot better on the resume that you have a diploma from a school. (I have my highschool diploma.)

Does your highschool have 4 years?

It is possible to work on programming during the break between school years (for us it is summer) and still finish highschool.

The thing is that I know the programming they learn at various schools, and would just waste time studying.

High school here ends when you're 19 years old. Then I will continue working as a programmer, hopefully in my own software company ( with a few friends working too, as we're already a small group of developers ).

Provided that I survive my A-Levels...

I will get a translation degree, and hopefully get a job in the same field, allowing me to travel around.

Or maybe go study LLB and further my studies in the field, then finally get to wear that wig ;D

What? and who are you referring to Caid?

Do you mean does Cyborg and his developing partners have economics education to sell their product, or are you talking to me since I am going towards an economics minor. ???

That's good to hear Ex. I got my future set for at least a decade - I'm doing the AF ROTC program and will become a 2nd lieutenant when I graduate college. I might go career, who knows. But for at least 8 years I will be in the Air Force doing something.

Writing stories, making a script out of it, and making a movie. Director, producer, maybe even an actor. That's right - movie business all the way. If I can I'll study in USA, at best, within 3 years... at worst... 5 years... duh...
