Which of the following would you say is the best tank?

Merkava 4

Challenger 2

Le Clerc

T 90

Leopard 2

Of those, probably the Le Clerc or the Challenger II.  But the US M1A2 is surperior to any of those...

There aren't many M1A2 tanks in Iraq - The older, more vulnerable A1 model is still the most prominant.

The Abrams armour is also a copy of the Chobham armour developed for the Challenger 1.

The Tiger 2 tank. :O If I could vote for any tank other than those 4 you listed, the following would be what I would have posted:

Not the strongest tank around but I vote for the Bionix IFV. It's still a tank! Fighting for contention will be our locally-designed and made 155mm Self Propelled Howitzer.

It is designed and made in Singapore and has a dull and bland yet cool and unique sleek design. It is made smaller and lighter[weaker though] than other tanks of its type, so as to increase its speed.

I always like small tanks... :)

I was going to put the T-95 in my list but as its future is uncertain I decided to go with the T-90

I'd say the Leopard 2 tank is the best, followed by the Challenger 2. It's a good all round tank with low maintenance costs.

It definitely depends on what criteria you use: armour, affordability, maintainability, mobility, firepower...

Challenger 2 beats Abrams anyday.

The T34 was the best ank of WW2 easily unless you're looking for the super-tanks, of which only a few were made.

Yes but 10 T34's would stuff a Tiger, and at the rate a T-34 was produced, combined with its price and reliability, the T-34 is a better tank.  The German Panther tanks were based on them.
