To clarify a few points.

Nav's idea of each person being able to create their own holds little merit. Nema is right, one per person would be the obvious outcome and we want to avoid that.

Vanguard's proposition

I think a proposed House should have to have certain criteria in order to be ratified by Gob. For example, it must have at least five people willing to become members, and who can agree on a name.
is almost exactly right. Except that I think they should have some form of shared philosophy to apply to their Guild, that way there are no repeats and the number of Guilds does not exceed say... 7? Maybe 14?

The names of the factions could be decided at a later date, once we (i.e. Gob) come to a conclusion whether to keep the idea or not. I am personally not against Nav creating his own faction provided that he can find a suitable number of people willing to join it. I don't particularly mind whether the names are Dune-orientated or not.

i love the idea, but in reality, it would be nearly impossible to work. here are my ideas on the issue though...

-One person gathers at least X amount of people to form a clan or guild.

-The one person fills out an application form that will be sent to Gob.

-The Application form will have to state things like membernames, reasons why you want the clan to exist, and why the members want to be in it.

-Gob has the choice to accept it or veto it. if he decides to veto it then it goes to the staff or landsraad for a vote.

-If it recieves a majority of the vote, then the guild will be passed.

-The members of the guild recieve no powers other than a title in the post display or the profile.

-People who would like to join a guild must first send an application to the guild leader asking for acceptance into the guild. (the same application form should apply, just slightly altered.)

-If the clan leader turns the person down, then the landsraad or staff vote on whether the member has valid reason to be in the clan.

-If the member recieves a majority of the vote, then he is passed to the next stage of admitance.

-Gob then decides whether or not the member should be added.

-If he says no, it is once more voted in the landsraad or staff. if the member recieves a majority of the vote, he joins the guild.

-Gob and the landsraad/staff have the ultimate power to vote to end a guild if see fit.

These are my ideas, some may not like them, but it was worth a shot.

Well here are the options:

1)Everyone makes their own and sees who wants to join them

2)X amount of people join together to form their own and their is a limit

3)All are Dune factions

Maybe we should put this to vote?

It should be at least 30 right? Then the minimum pple in one faction/house/clan/etc. can be 10 and 3 permanent pple will be allocated to each group. :O

Doesn't sound sensible but anyway... ???

::) Ay mate,at my forum? 8)

I think we should decide our own fate by voting HERE.We all should be allowed to vote because "All animals are equal" but though one animal, namely the bumbler,is "more equal that others".All comrades, please proceed to the meeting room immediately.
