But what could have the french really done? the germans bombed their air fields, French tanks were superier compared with the german panzer mark I and II but to widespread to stop the german assult. The french couldnt have held the germans if they tried with everything they could. So they did the smart thing and surenderd ans saved thousands of french lives. But the fighting never stoped now did it? Nope.

Ya, the French Resistance was OK, but he is not talking about the normal French citizens who make up the resistance, he is talking about the government, which had NO PART in the French resistance, and which DOES have a history of being arogant(and I know I cannot spell, dont mention it please)

Durring WW2, the French government surrendered BEFORE the army in the on the battlefield was defeated. They surrendered and fled the country LONG before the Germans got to Paris. The Government was even trying to tell the commanders in the field how to fight while the Germans were invading. And I have to find my sorce again, cause I lost it, but durring the invasion, there was a commander who got a message from Paris stating that some French politition DIDN'T THINK THAT GERMANY WAS REALLY GOING TO INVADE! while all this was going on, the government was ordering French troops around in ways that made NO sense at all, and was almost opening a door to Paris for the Germans.

And on top of that, as soon as the NATO was formed to PROTECT france, France tried to Drop out of it, because they did not want to spend the money required to be spent on upkeeping something like that. Durring the 50's, France Tried to drop out of the UN, for the same reason, only strong negotiating by the US Diplomats kept them from leaving

After WW2, EVERY country in Western Europe owed the US money(except maybe Spain and Portugal, not sure about them) many of them were going to have problems paying that money off, so the United States waived the debts, we just forgot them. Out of all the countries that owed us Money after WW2, only Norway payed us back. Out of all of western Europe, only Norway.

Then, in the 50's, France was having trouble with its economy, so the US pumped millions of dollars into france to re-establish their economy. A few months later, France starts boycotting American goods and requsting that Americans leave because they are unwanted, and De Gualle DEMANDED that all US/UN troops leave France.

THAT, is the government that he was protesting.

Oh, and a random, thought, why is France on the UN Security Counsol? They have not really participated or contributed to World Security recently. For that matter, france has not been on the winning side of a War since the French Navy helped durring the American Revolution

(The French Revolution does not count, of course the French would win the French Revolution)

Actually we probably still would have won, it just would have taken a lot longer. The only time that the French were a defining point in the war was the battle of Yorktown, and that was by blocking the Brits retreat.

First I don't see what it would change to the present situation. Glory is for the falsified ones so let this artificial glow that is not yours but some of your ancestors'.

Second, I'll still put an historical point straight: when we study the French Revolution, we lurn that one of the important point bringing to this revolution is the aid given to America because it put the funds down. So whattever its importance, it wasn't nothing. Doesn't change a thing about who made the revolution happen, but would Lafayette and friends agree with the empire now created when what they just done is going against the British empire???

PS: Anf if you think the American people are naturally better than the French people I'll get seriously worried since it's pretty eugenistic, isn't it? There are good people and bad people everywhere. They just think different things.

Maybe thats becouse Napoleon was defeated at Waterloo, and they had no other choice then to agree to a surender(Napoleons army was sadly crushed after he demeanded the atack be on Wellingtons Center, And after Ney tossed a massive calvery charge at the british center and they held, and the fact that the French atack On Hougment had been driven back, the french were already in trouble, then the prussians came and it was chaos as the french retreated the only thing they could have done as they were heavily out numberd.)

And since the french army was disbanded as Napoleon was forced into exile, they couldnt have helped if they wanted to. So dont blame france

And when has that been done? Certainly not in this war. Civillian casualties are sad and unfortunate, completely unintentional but sometimes necessary when the enemy stores arms in schools and uses human shields like we have seen. Civillian casualties are currently sitting at ~500. Yes, 500. Skeptics estimated millions. The UN estimated at least 500,000. Shows you how bad a state the UN is in when it misses estimates by 100,000%.

Looks to me like someone learned how to use Photoshop and seeing how the page that is from contains other fake pictures and incorrect captions it wouldn't surprise me.

Btw, sorry about the confusion, Sard. I don't know anything about guns, so I couldn't tell what kind of rifle he's holding. Well, I guess he's British then.

The picture quality is horrible something that is different from any other photo on the page it comes from.

Look at the guys hand, if this is a fake that would be the hardest to "fix" to the proper background colours, and by the looks of it they did a bad job and the guy is missing his pinky finger.

When you zoom in on the image you see a lot of odd inconsistencies in the colours.

The gun barrel is really odd looking, almost as if it extends longer then it should.

Lastly, that blue blanket seems out of place, almost like it belongs to something else.
