All 6 million?

A guy I talked to in school said that during the Hollocaust, those who died in consentration camps were not all Jews, but Russian, Slavic people, Communists (from other countries etc) and so on. The 6 million people who died were not all Jews, but other "kind" of people.

Now, I don't know if it is true. I take it very lightly. But on the other hand, I see no counter-proof on this question. Well, does anyone know the "truth"?

What that guy said is true:

Blacks, Slavs, Russians, Gypsies and gays were all put into concentration camps.

Others died in the concentration camps, but the Jews were the high majority. The 6 million count (which is approximate, it would be impossible to count the dead Jewish people) is for Jews only, the other groups of people in the camps would add onto the number if we were to count them total. I think your friend has his facts backwards.

His friend said that they were included into the 6 million count, because others were in the concentration camps. But the fact is that the 6 million is only Jewish people, but there were other people in the camps.

Also romanians captured from the villages the Wermach passed during its retreat after 23 aug 1944. Also romanian military captured by the germans. When the camps were almost in russian hands the Luftwaffe bombarded the cams so no one survived. But people managed to escape... That's what happened to a camp where the majority were romanians.

Holcaust is actually a flawed term for this. Literally it means self sacrifice by burning yourself.

Getting technical, there is a possibility that Hitler was Jewish, so it isn't entirely flawed.

actually, it was around 6 million jews that were slaughtered. 1/3 of their population in all of europe was taken away from earth. its estimated that hitler killed around 11 to 12 million in all. pretty sick.

yes many people of differant races died in the death camps and labor camps but hte majority were Jewish and more htan 6m died about 6m jewish people died in them.

That is called an "Oswiencim lie". Some people, especially radical rightists, try to negate the historical reality of holocaust, or at least make it lesser brutal. I.e. new palestinian premier told he believe there were only 760 000 Jews killed in whole process, just world sionistic movement changed the numbers. Disgusting. About 12 million people were senselessly slaughtered, from that 6 million Jews or Jidis. That is reality of fascism.

Holocaust means thorough burning (as in whole - from Gk. holos). Autocaust would mean burning yourself.

The 6 million were all Jews. But ON TOP of that, there were millions of other people who were slaughtered.

As a matter of fact, more Russians than Jews were massacred by the nazis. But the vast majority of the Russians were simply shot on the spot or worked to death in their own villages, not sent to concentration camps.

No, he said that the Russians, gays and etc. was all included in the 6 million. No adding. I've also heard some sick "conspiracy theory" that the Jews made up the "6 million" deaths to get a country and support. Probably some Nazi-symph who said that...

That's because Stalin had a larger population under his control, and was far longer in power. If Hitler had achieved his goals he'd have killed far more then Stalin.
