EA SCREWS CUSTOMERS YET AGAIN

EA MAY TERMINATE THE ONLINE FEATURES OF THIS PRODUCT AFTER GIVING 90 DAYS NOTICE

That is exactly what it says on the Generals box, in big-bold lettering on the back. So now not only does EA permanenetly abandon everything they ever release within 3 months of the Retail date - now they also stop you from being able to play online too.

I wonder which game will be one of the first to be tested under this new "strip them of their right to play online policy". Logic would suggest that game would be the one that is already on the very bottom of the list of the games on their webpage: Emperor.

All the more reason to boycott EA. Though I am sure like me, many of you are already smart enough to have boycotted EA long ago.

I pity all the fools who will get really good at Generals, then a year from now EA completely takes away the ability to play Generals online. LOL

I think the key word there is "may" and since Generals uses Gamespy even if EA completely shuts down you will still be able to play online unlike Emperor.

I mean, no offense, but wether they put it on the box or not, it's in the liscence agreement for about every game in existance.

From the WC3 liscence agreement:

Duration of the 'On-Line' componetnt of the program. This Program contains an 'on-line' component that allows you to utilize the Product over the Internet utizing servers and software maintained and authorized by Blizzard. Blizzard agrees to continue to provide the servers and software technology necessary to utilize the 'on-line' component of the Program until suh time as the Program is Out of Publication.

One more reason to boycott Blizzard. ::) ::)

well, if you say you don't like it, i respect that. it's not the best game i ever played. And in the case of gameplay it's not that good.

however if you say that Emperor's graphix are better, there must be some screws loose in your head, cuz Generals does not only have a much better engine, the graphix are also a lot sharper, and the physics are a LOT better
