I got some emails about spammers in duniverse board, although I don't check that email address often.

The worst part about that is if I notice spammer, report it, someone else notices same spammer, reports it, people can get multiple emails about same post/spammer.

some forums have a delay in first posts, so that a moderator can check the message to make sure it is not a spammer, and after first or second post gets accepted, then they can post normally. Is that possible with this software?

So, last couple days porn spam has been on the rise.

Is it possible to implement a system for new members to have their first post moderated? This would stop most of this bad spam. I've suggested it before. Many other forums do this.

First post approval link at SMF forum.

Version 2.0 RC of SMF has this. Sadly it is still in development, so hopefully this forum gets updated once it is released.

Are mods having a fun time with their inbox getting full of complaints? :P

DreamHost is currently experiencing a fairly large network failure. The extent is unknown at this time however it seems that most of our central services (dreamhost.com, panel.dreamhost.com, webmail, etc

Server move is complete now I think, according to their status updates.  Wiki still doesn't seem to be working though.

EDIT - Wiki is working again.  Also, in case of further server problems, and for other possible uses, I've set up a Fed2k Twitter, which I'm just setting up.  There is a DreamhostStatus Twitter feed I'm following on there which will be helpful.

Edit: The last time this happened, it was the first time I'd seen Penny Arcade. It introduced me to webcomics as a whole, in fact. Ah, memory lane.

There's a thread on the Duniverse forum called Dune related "in-jokes" where that kind of stuff gets posted.  Vangaurd started it... holy crap, 7 years ago.  I'm old.
