joker_dude3
is the only way to build them by capturing the heavy factory?
gryphon
yep . . thought it was the only way.edit .. my mistake. . .. I should think before I post ;) if you mean the emperors palace you're correct :)
Timenn
Heh? You mean to capture the Imperial Palace?
Inoculator9
Yeah, it's the Imperial Palace you need to capture.
shygirl4
if you want to build sarduka play as harkonan you can build as many as you want then.
Terror
yeah with the patch yeah (only skirmish and multi though)anyway, it would be cool if you call them Sardaukar the next time though :P Sardeuker is nice though :)
Anathema
Bleh, Sards suck in Dune2000. They're so weak that two infantry men (=100 solaris) can take one down, while they are supposed to be able to take down 10 regular soldiers.
Terror
true, true.. however.. in emperor they can't take down 10 light inf. either :)
exatreide
elite sards can ;)
Terror
well fedaykin could as well, if he is lucky enough to see enough light infantry lined up. Sard elites would not pull it off, but elite sardaukar elites and elite sardaukar would as well yeah.
Boba Fett
Aren't we supposed to be discussing DUNE 2000 here? I believe there is a separate section for Emperor here. And could anyone please tell me why Sardaukars damage tanks that run over them?
Terror
uhm, they they have those cords in their hair, they can kill a tank with it...
DukeLeto
lol ;DActually, I think it's supposed to be because of all the weaponry...not sure though.
Timenn
They shoot always. Even when they are dieing. That are my thoughts. But I'm sure there is some sort of story in it
Terror
yeah, i think i read it somewhere, like they carry explosives that detonate on their deaths or something... my story sounded better though
Boba Fett
Probably. And the same thing happens with fremen too.
Terror
they do? well, they have sharp krys knives don't they?
Boba Fett
Hahahahaha. Hey, I though sards carry guns as well as rocket launchers and fire the appropriate weapon when told to attack a unit. But I've only seen them use guns. Why?
Anathema
About the Sard thing, the manual says that Sards carry mines on their bodies (silly twits) so they damage verhicles when they're driven over.
Terror
Hahahahaha. Hey, I though sards carry guns as well as rocket launchers and fire the appropriate weapon when told to attack a unit. But I've only seen them use guns. Why?yeah i know what ya mean. They only fire guns even though the manual tells a different story. Ah well, stuff happens. Boba Fett
Or maybe there is something you gotta do so that the get their HHRLDs (bazookas) out, quite like the double clicking you gotta do to make saboteurs invisible.
Terror
well, perhaps, but i don't think so considering that the manual says that the sardaukar automatically changes weapon based on the circumstances
mechadragon
Sardukar vs Infantry types = Guns. Sardukar vs Vehicle types and Buildings = Rockets. If you don't get this on your game, something is wrong. It has always worked correctly for me.
Boba Fett
The only way this can happen is if Dune2000 has many versions. I've played Dune2k in 3 people's houses and each had bought Dune in diff. parts of India. North, East and South, to be precise. The sards used m.guns in all the Dune2ks. So, maybe you get one version in India and another in other places.Don't forget, 3 people buying 3 Dune cd's from different extremes of the 7th largest country and all having the same type of sardaukar sure must mean that this thesis isn't all that probable. Terror
hmm i have never seen it either... then the must be something wrong with my dune2k :P no, if what mecha is saying is true, it must be a version thing. Perhaps only new dunek2 version have it right. but i haven't seen it
